This year’s team finished 14th, our best ever.
Way to go, Tigers!
Edit: I was wrong, we finished 13th in 1987. Interestingly, we had a great regular season that year, and had ACC POY Horace Grant, but were upset in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
It would be interesting to see what the AP poll that year would’ve looked like if they had done one after the NCAA Tournament. I bet we would’ve dropped a good bit.

NC State has it worse than Clemson. Ranked at something like 13 after final fouring. Don’t make no since to my undeveloped brain.

It shows how bad our history in basketball is. 14th is the highest we’ve ever finished 😳. We have to start somewhere. I’m very proud of what our team achieved this year!!

not becauase we played well, but because the other teams could not hit a 3 to save their lives,=. I think 14 is generous.

It's pretty obvious Clemson won the games because they played great. It's obvious we lost the elite game game because they didn't. Nothing else to say till they tip off in November.

They take the whole season into account. Obviously the NCAA Tournament matters a lot, as we wouldn’t have finished this high based solely on the regular season.

polls. There were other years we may have ended up higher if they had released a poll. We also would have been viewed as non-Top 25 if they hadn't changed it up this year. It was kind of absurd they never had one before now. On the flipside, football should probably not have anything released after beyond reordering playoff teams since everyone now opts out of the bowls

I doubt it would have made much of a difference to include the postseason.
For example, we finished around here in 1997 when we made the Sweet 16, so that wouldn’t have moved our finish much.

since we have the second highest paid coach in college football, the highest coaching staff budget in the country, the finest facilities in college football, and the football history and fan support that is rivaled by few.
Expectations are higher for football.
In basketball, finishing 14th nationally is quite an accomplishment since we aren’t top 50 in any of those things (basketball budget, facilities, fan support, or history).
