I'd be suprised to see Mascoll leave

Jul 12, 2022, 8:10 AM

He's a soild player but I think he needs to return for his senior year. We've also got the two DE from a year ago that took a RS in Denhoff and Patterson. Both high 4 star guys themselves.

With this recruiting class, we know Nick and Hall are great recruiters.
The play on the field this year and next year will show us how great they are as coaches.

I have faith in our Defense, particularly the line. Now we have to turn out an Offense to match!

Go Tigers, Wreck Tech!

+1 to the need to turn out an OL that matches the abilities of the DL we’ve got on hand and coming in. Get that, and look out! Clemson will be back with a vengeance.

He’s said if he has a great season, then he’d go pro.

I’d love to have him back but gladly wish him success if he left.

Bresee?

Jul 12, 2022, 8:54 AM

You don’t mention Bresee as a probable departure. An oversight, or do you know something?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I can’t imagine he stays.***

I noticed that, too. But maybe missing most of the season injured has him more inclined to come back as a senior and put up a big year? Depending on how this year plays out, I suppose.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Bresee ?... Go back and read more carefully...

Jul 12, 2022, 4:30 PM [ in reply to Bresee? ]

Hall coaches the DE & he is talking about losing 4 DE's: Thomas, Mascoll, Henry, (all seniors) and possibly Murphy (a junior). If all 4 leave, there is no one left on the roster that has ever started a game at DE, let alone play even 1/2 a game in the number of snaps in a college game.

DT's Davis, (a senior), Bresee, Orhororo, Reuben (all juniors of which Bresee and maybe one other could leave early).

DL will need to be rebuilt with a lot of talent, but with very little experience. Not a guarrantee of success for the DL in 2023 season.

Understand what you’re saying, but ...

Jul 12, 2022, 5:24 PM

I think Woods, Burley, and Green are more likely to replace our departing DTs, that’s what made the article a bit unclear.

The article starts out listing all the current 2023 DL commits, then just sort of sort of switches to the DEs we lose.

It begins with discussion of the total DL recruiting of both Eason and Hall, but then focuses on loses at DE without discussing the DTs we also lose.

I understand that Hall coaches DE. Therefore, even though he potentially loses all starting DEs, i don’t think he will be coaching Woods, Burley, or Green.

I know these guys are good. but they aren't very large***

Many here understood that...

Dabo approved of his staff leaving. Not to disrespect Brent, Tony or Jeff but having them move up is a trophy to Dabo. He planned it, executed the plan and was prepared for the resolution.

While I was sorry to see them, especially Venables, go. I was delighted to turn the page and start the next chapter.
