Cade needs QB spit the open WR camp. WRs need catching camp. After that, not many complaints. Except hold on to the ball camp for the Offense. Amazed at the 4 game win streak. Keep it up!
Go Tigers.

I don’t think spitting will help.

The problems that we see from our receivers, it's the same thing from our freshman to our senior receivers, they have continued to drop catchable balls throughout the season, (that is Coaching) and that wasn't a problem until Grisham became our WRs coach, we need Jeff Scott back before he takes a job with TE, BV, or some other team!!!!

I was all for waiting to see what Wes did next season after losing most of the DL before giving him a raise but he absolutely deserves it after the last 4 games! He is a magician and has proved all the doubters wrong! Go Tigers!!

Patrick Sapp also had a drop that should've been easily caught.

Yep and the Stellano drop on third was bad too. Could have extended the drive and basically ended the game at that point.

There were balls bouncing off receivers the entire game, and Cade really don't need drops from the receivers to look bad...

Clubnik obviously needs to really work on his game in the offseason. I may be crazy but he has all the tools to be an elite 5 quarterback. I think we will be a playoff caliber team next year. I’m excited to see it happen. Our defense is playoff ready now and we have to get the offense to that level. O line has to be a priority. Fix that and we would probably be undefeated.Go Tigers

The term "playoff caliber" gets watered down next year with it expanding to 12. I think the mentality for many moving forward (including myself) will be playoff or bust. These bowls like the Gator, Pop Tart, and Holiday will be a lot less interesting at that point. There's no reason Clemson can't make the necessary adjustments to be a playoff team next year.

I think we saw a better ACC this year bc of the portal and its impact on rosters with less talent to begin with, so the path will continue to be tougher, but I agree we can fix our issues and be a playoff team next year. I watch Clemson bowl games no matter what but nothing would be sweeter than making the first 12 team playoff and taking the title!

The main thing I see with, not only our receivers, but a lot of College receivers is that they try to catch every ball with just their hands. Obviously sometimes you have to use strong hands to get the ball, but the drops Saturday night were all just hands catches. Stellato has great hands but the ball he dropped was right in the middle of his body and didn’t need to be Hands. It looked like if he catches it with his body, he holds on.

Now in their defense, Cade does not throw an easily catchable ball at times and he really tries to throw into such small windows it doesn’t help the receiver. Is it coaching or just the way kids are taught from an early age. I don’t know but I watched the Michigan/ OSU game and Marvin Harrison, Jr uses his body unless he has to fight for a catch….. IMHO

This is exactly the opposite of what receivers should day. Good coaches drill drill drill catching the ball with their hands away from their body, and make a diamond between your fingers and thumbs. That is 100% fundamental coaching. Trapping the ball against your body should only ever be a last resort.

Catching with your hands does several things: allows for immediate tuck for running after the catch, avoids bounces off the shoulder pads which is a real thing because the coefficient of restitution for plastic is much higher than for hands, and MOST IMPORTANT it shortens the distance between the receiver and the QB. Finally, the with the gloves that receivers wear today, every ball that hits two hands should be a catch. No excuses.

Drops are like fumbles: they are as much psychological as physical, and they are absolutely contagious.

You don’t know football at all. WRs should always try and catch with their hands. It’s a higher risk of drops when catching with the body. WRs are trained to catch with their hands and keep the ball away from the body.

All interesting points, but I’d be happy if we just had receivers who could catch the long ball—but wait, we don’t have a quarterback who can throw the long ball with the finesse we got used to with Deshaun and Trevor.

Cade seems like a fine young man who shares credit with his teammates. But is he really the kind of elite quarterback we saw last week at Michigan, Washington and Oregon? Sorry, but I don’t think he is. In modern football, there is no more important player than the quarterback. Soon-to-be NFL Rookie Of the Year C.J. Stroud was just another of the great ones turned out by Ohio State.

Joe Burrow, who took the Bengals to the Super Bowl a couple of years ago, killed our Trevor Lawrence-led Tigers in the national championship game in 2019. Ask yourself, will Cade ever play at the level of those three quarterbacks? Heck, will he ever play at the level of Duke quarterback (soon-to-be Notre Dame or Texas A&M quarterback) Riley Leonard? I hope so, but . . . . So it is imperative that Garrett Riley earn his big salary by either developing Cade into a big-time quarterback, or replacing him.

We didn’t score a touchdown against a pathetic South Carolina team. Someone noted that Clemson hasn’t played a game without scoring a TD since 2014! We need a dominant quarterback, a skilled “commander,” to fix this.

Great article about the defense and all the comments are complaints about the offense. I do agree with the ones saying Scott should be back and I trust Dabo enough to make the right decisions with coaches.

I am laughing at all the fans here that criticized the DC. From my viewpoint, he looks pretty dang good.
