The opposition teams matter too! No wins against ranked teams or few with winning records isn’t impressive. November will tell our story. But look Miami gets by on good offense too!

Our 1st string D only gave up 2 tds in the last 2 weeks. Venables has no business playing and is solely responsible for quite a few busted assignments. I'd like to see us close a game with our starters. I trust our staff but I'd love to see more Sammy & Hampton moving forward. If we're thin at safety let's move JL bc he's a terrible CB. We are growing and hopefully we'll be seasoned enough to stomp Miami & make a run in the playoffs. Go Tigers!!!

Matters for what or to who? Are you concerned that an organization who has a known bias, and is using a guesstimate as methodology for choosing playoff teams did not rank us higher at the halfway point of the season?

Trying to think of something which matters less than their guess but drawing a blank

That's just ESECPN being the very same dip chits that they've always been, the only thing that has changed with them is the date!!!

This is why it's crazy to see Dabo putting backups so often to let teams make a respectable comeback

We don't have a strong schedule. The only way we get enough buzz is by blowing out bad teams. The decision to play backups has eroded our ability to do that

NOT playing backups will erode our ability to beat good teams. Which do you prefer? Looking good and getting wasted later by good teams because we have no depth, or not winning the beauty contest but actually having a chance to compete against the top teams?

If the back ups don’t get pt and feel like they are developing they will transfer. CDS knows that.

People will make a lot of noise when Dabo does the thing that will improve his teams depth without caring at all what the talking heads are saying. But as soon as one of our top guys go down and a backup is able to come in and not miss a beat, everybody is ready to pat Dabo on the back bc he was looking out in case somebody goes down in a game and an experienced player is needed to take that place!!!

If Clemson wins out ( gotta play lights out ) and makes ACCCG and were to lose they may not make an at large pick for the playoffs. SMU could also be a spoiler. Strength of schedule currently is not in the Tigers favor. But we will when the dust settles. There is a lot of football left to be played. GO TIGERS

This will look completely different in 3 weeks. That power index is funny. USC at 15??? How.

But they have ND at power index 7 yet no discussion on them in playoffs. They got fortunate with their schedule. If they win out, they're in. 2 great chances to get wins over navy and army. I suspect if they win out, they'll be a 6 or 7 seed. It's win the acc or bust.

Definitely agree SMU could be a real wildcard and get in above us if we lost the acccg. You're right. Way too many variables.

As usual I'm sure you're onto something there, but I honestly don't think that Notre Dame should ever have a place in college football where it mostly consists of conference schools, and ND isn't a part of a conference with their FB program, so their FB program shouldn't get any consideration in the playoffs. Not being in a conference with their FB program was bc of their greed and they chose the money over being a part of a conference. Their path of no conference affiliation with their FB program was 100% their choice!!!

If they want to schedule regular season games with conference teams that's fine, but when it comes to the conference playoffs they should be a conference team with their FB program. They shouldn't be able make more money as a private school with their FB program and be allowed to bring their private FB program into a conference championship where the biggest conference money is on the line. To allow it is offering the best of both worlds that they don't belong to, and they shouldn't be invited or allowed in the conference championship games where everybody, but ND belongs to a conference!!!

None of this matters. Either we win out and get a top 4 seed and first round bye or we lose a game at some point are out of the playoffs entirely. There's virtually zero chance we get an at large big with multiple losses so quit wasting your time scrutinizing the rankings.
