We have used the portal to our advantage for players to move down a level of competition and thus open up a spot for a new scholarship. This year so far we have sent scholarship athletes to Georgia State, Charlotte, and Florida A&M.. and now we have a scholarship available to invest in a new Player either through the portal or through freshman recruiting
We have also lost Makuba to Texas As well as Wiggins and Trotter to the pros

I just hope he finished his degree at Clemson (like Simmons). Otherwise I wish him well….
Not many of our ex players make a lateral move or a step up in the portal.
But I’m sure the get more playing time.

First of all, FAMU is actually SWAC, they’ve been gone from the MEAC for years. Secondly, congrats young man. Though FCS, Coach Simmons is building a great program down there.
