“Past winners of the award include Clemson QB DJ Uiagalelei, as well as Alabama's Bryce Young and Georgia's JT Daniels.“
2019 — Bryce Young, Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.); D.J. Uiagalelei, St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) Named Co-Players of the Year by MaxPreps, Young led Mater Dei to an 11-2 record with both losses to St. John Bosco. Uiagalelei led St. John Bosco to a 14-0 record and a national No. 1 ranking by MaxPreps.
What in the world have we done to poor DJ???

Look at how mobile he is in the pocket and how he scrambles and makes throws. He's no DJ.

One thing that we know, that we have witnessed in Cade Klubnik's film, and that's he can throw on the move, and he can hit receivers running down field. Also, when Cade is being pressured, he uses his legs to buy himself some time, and if nobody is open, he don't get so skittish, or excited that it causes him to go blind, he just makes plays with his legs, just like DW4 and TL16 did when they were the leader of our offense!!!

It will be impossible to know how much of that is him or the talent around him til he plays college ball. He has more talent on his team than any other in the country, it’s why he’s been ranked so low with such good results and camps til Ewers reclassified.
Fingers crossed he is a great one!!! Remember DJ was the national POY, number one ranked HS team and a much higher rated recruit than Cade. HS tape means nothing.

you could not be anymore wrong. I have watched Cade 3 times this year. The kid is the real deal. While, he has talent around him, it does not define him. Most of the players on his team are not D1 players. I am really familiar with Austin Westlake. Lake Travis is usually king in that area. Cade is going to be special.

Glad to hear your evaluation from watching him. Some Texas High School is like DII college. Can’t wait to see him in Death Valley in the Spring Game! Go Tigers, win out…..

Cade Klubnik left in the 2nd quarter with a shoulder injury in Friday's 35-0 win over Bowie, after throwing a 93 yard TD pass, and running for a 13 yard score. He made a long reception from a throwback pass from the RB, but it was called back due to a blindside block, which was a horrible call. But he apparently got hurt on that play, took his shoulder pads off, and went into the injury tent. His parents came down from the stands and also went into the tent. They came out of the tent to a cart and went to the locker room. He and his family did a thumbs up sign, so that may be good. But he had ice on his non-throwing shoulder.
