Sorry, just my opinion but anything less than making the round of 8, maybe even 4 and the committee looks right. I worry if they are flat going in however.

I tend to agree with you but don't think they'll be flat after seeing some of the games last night. There are/were 19 teams in the NIT with at least 20 wins so plenty of very good teams (several of the "mid-majors" have 23+ wins). With teams like Liberty taking out Villanova and Hofsta taking down Rutgers and even Yale giving Vandy all they could handle, hopefully those got the Tigers attention that it's time to play ball again in order to get to Las Vegas:)

Hope you are right. I hope we are hyped to play, because there are some good teams like us in the NIT.
But I am concerned about the hangover affect of not going to the big dance.

Many people are remembering the NIT of the 1980s, 1990s, and 00s which was a much weaker field than we see today.

GOOD? Meh, Decent at best. In theory the winner is what, the 70th best team in the country? I'm not sure that qualifies ad good. And we didn't make it past round one so guess the committee got proven correct no matter how we spin it. a Good team would have found a way.
