Nancy State can't sell out their own friggin' home games...

Dec 3, 2021, 9:50 AM

in a glorified high school stadium.

Why in the world would ANYONE seriously consider them for a bowl game played all the way out on the left coast.

They won't sell 5,000 tickets.

The holiday bowl does not expect mini ticket sales from the ACC team. The Pac 12 should sell most of the tickets.

I've heard that the Holiday Bowl is not attendance dependent which would be perfect for N.C. State.

2024 purple level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I bought tickets to the Gator Bowl already.... I sure hope

Dec 3, 2021, 10:03 AM

we go there!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No tickets yet, but I can’t swing midweek in Orlando

Dec 3, 2021, 10:30 AM

I’m hoping for Jacksonville.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

ALL IN!!

The date of that games always seems to suck...

Dec 3, 2021, 10:48 AM

Mid-week right between Christmas and New Years.

All Disney Theme Parks are open in Central Florida

Dec 3, 2021, 11:06 AM

Does that change in a few weeks? Maybe. Probably not.

the Gator will take the 2nd place ACC team

Dec 3, 2021, 11:00 AM [ in reply to I bought tickets to the Gator Bowl already.... I sure hope ]

Clemson is at best 3rd place, so, sell those tickets ASAP...

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The Gator lost their a$$ with Nancy State ...

Dec 3, 2021, 11:05 AM

two of the last three years and while COVID contributed to one of those, I doubt the Gator Bowl is too excited about the prospect of Wake coming to Jacksonville with all twenty-three of its football fans.

Well from what I was reading earlier in the week

Dec 3, 2021, 11:57 AM [ in reply to the Gator will take the 2nd place ACC team ]

The Gator Bowl didn't want NC ST (because of them playing recently in the game) and their fanbase traveling concerns. I don't think Pitt or Wake would be the ideal team either for the Gator Bowl. I read earlier in the week from a different site that the Gator Bowl was our likely destination. I even asked David Hood about it and he confirmed at the time that's what he was hearing.

I'm still holding out hope.

The Gator doesn't "take second place". They get to choose who they want to invite, they aren't bound by rankings.

The conference champ goes to a NY6 bowl.
Then, the Cheez-It Bowl gets to pick a team.
Then, the Gator Bowl gets to pick a team.

Dec 3, 2021, 11:10 AM [ in reply to I bought tickets to the Gator Bowl already.... I sure hope ]

Ordered a ticket to both the Gator and Cheez-It.I want to see the Tigers in Jacksonville first choice but If not and we end up in Orlando then I will gladly to make the the trip farther south, won't miss either opportunity to watch the Tigers play one more time in person this season

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Will it be "easy" to sell the tickets to the game we don't

Dec 3, 2021, 11:53 AM

end up going to? Or are you expecting to lose some money on purchasing both? I couldn't believe the prices to the Gator bowl so I snatched up 6 for myself and the family and I'm now concerned we may not be playing in Jacksonville.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Will it be "easy" to sell the tickets to the game we don't

Dec 3, 2021, 12:04 PM

I ordered thru IPTAY/Clemson Ticket Office. The email they sent me about which bowls I want tickets to said that I will be charged only for the game that Clemson is selected to go to.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Will it be "easy" to sell the tickets to the game we don't

Dec 3, 2021, 12:27 PM

I selected from the 3 choices that were listed in the email which were the Gator,Chees-It and Holiday Bowls.I ordered 1 ticket to the Gator and 1 ticket to the Chees-it.So if Clemson on Sunday is selected to which ever one then I will get a mobile ticket to that bowl and that bowl only and will not have to try to resale the one they were not selected to.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Okay, thank you for your response.

Dec 3, 2021, 12:45 PM

I needed more tickets so I decided to purchase outside IPTAY on a third party site (Vivid Seats) and it might come back to bite me. Dang.

Whoever has the first pick will be where Clemson goes. That's a no brainer.

If we happen to face Iowa State in the bowl game, what are

Dec 3, 2021, 10:55 AM

the odds that Matt Campbell will still be the coach there by that time?

Re: If we happen to face Iowa State in the bowl game, what are

Dec 3, 2021, 11:02 AM

probably about 49% because Notre Dame has named their coach which leaves OU as the next high profile job. I would doubt that he has interviewed for it, but ND settled, he might become their top priority.

Re: If we happen to face Iowa State in the bowl game, what are

Dec 3, 2021, 11:12 AM [ in reply to If we happen to face Iowa State in the bowl game, what are ]

Not good at all.

He's gone, it's just a question of where. Everybody in the historical top-50 programs in America can beat out Iowa State for money and he's easily a Top-25 coach in the country.

Re: If we happen to face Iowa State in the bowl game, what are

Dec 3, 2021, 11:26 AM

I just don't like that name, Cheez-It Bowl.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Funny you said it...Was thinking thank goodness they

Dec 3, 2021, 12:33 PM

don't call it the Cheesy Bowl....lol

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

cheezit would be nice

Dec 3, 2021, 11:41 AM

game starts after 5 pm and not 11 am like mayo and gator...i also have sec fatigue

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: cheezit would be nice

Dec 3, 2021, 1:17 PM

THIS!!!.. the last thing i wanta see is another clemson/auburn or clemson/a&m matchup. and, i like the 5pm kickoff on a workday... reminds me of the game vs colorado back in '05... 'twas fun.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Agreed....

Dec 3, 2021, 1:23 PM [ in reply to cheezit would be nice ]

More to do it Orlando too...though it will be crowded. Stadium is nicer/easier to get to in JAX...but ORL is only abt another 115-130 more. 11:00 am start sucks

Agreed with above...tired of playing A&M and Auburn.

Truthfully, would love to go to Holiday Bowl...San Diego is NICE

Re: TNET: Clemson bowl projections trending toward one Sunshine State destination

Dec 3, 2021, 11:45 AM

Play SCar in Charlotte to make up for last year and sure to sell out.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Why

Dec 3, 2021, 12:17 PM

couldn't they have figured out another name for it? I know that's where the bucks come from but honestly-the Cheez-it Bowl. I can't manage much enthusiasm for the name. Other bowl trips to Orlando were good so it's not about the Bowl itself-just the name-yuuuucccckkk! At least call it the Cheez-it ---------(fill in name) Bowl. What's next, the Vagisil bowl? The Immodium Bowl?-(just realized dat was funny right dere)

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Why

Dec 3, 2021, 1:20 PM

i think the cheez-it bowl has always been a brand name bowl, and that's it. Blockbuster / Carquest / MicronPC / Tangerine / Champs Sports / Russell Athletic / Camping World / Cheez-It Bowl

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Why

Dec 3, 2021, 1:23 PM

Tangerine was kinda cool... any fruit named bowl will do.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: TNET: Clemson bowl projections trending toward one Sunshine State destination

Dec 3, 2021, 4:51 PM

Iowa State, that's awful...they ain't even ranked are they? Thought I saw the other day it was Gator Bowl against A&M, which at least brings a Top 25 team and some clout. ISU would be a lame matchup and one of those, lose-lose scenarios. Cheez-it against OU would def be my top choice, name recognition and a ranked team...we need to play someone of note, that's also ranked ahead of us. Let's really hope we don't get stuck playing ISU, Miss St, or another one of these blah teams where you're expected to win so if you do, yawn...but if you lose then it looks terrible. Lose-Lose game.
