“Clemson beat themselves with missed tackles, fumbles and just a general lack of energy on the team. For captains like sixth-year safety Jalyn Phillips, this was an incredibly hard defeat.”—Tigernet
Gotta ask: Why was there a “lack of energy” with a team that definitely has someting to prove as it tries to achieve its No. 1 goal, which is getting back to the CFP? And something to prove, which is that it is way better than what it showed last year against S.C. (in Death Valley!!) and against Tennessee in the Orange Bowl.
Lack of energy in the first game of the year when everybody should be eager to go from practices to an actual game? This is a coaching issue, pure and simple.

Definitely concerning. If losing to puke doesn’t set you on fire then you don’t deserve to be on a Clemson football team. And that means cfp was never a reasonable goal.

Just show some fire in the belly. If not then step aside and give someone else a chance.

I Agree...Adversity either Builds or Reveals🤔 It's 28 points to Duke by the Defense that concerns me🤔 Chas. Southern better finish with a Goose Egg👍

How can we forget the Syracuse loss (2017, I think ?)

We were dead. Lost to a nobody on the road. But came back and didn’t lose again until the National Championship. Or that Bowden team in the early aughts that lost to Wake to drop to 4-4. TB shoulda been fired then. But those young men decided they weren’t gonna lose again and “refused to lose”. Beat the (#3?) Noles and stomped a hole in the last 3+we played to be the best 8-4 team in the country. One of the things that I still love about college football. You never know how they respond to adversity. During Dabo’s tenure, we have generally responded well. Go Tiguhs!!

Actually, after we lost to Syracuse in 2017 we went on to Play 'Bammer in the Playoff and lost to them.

Can somebody convince me how playing Charleston Southern “will help Clemson get back on track” will work… please tell me. It is like a high school varsity football team using its junior varsity team. That is insane.
