Tigers practice at AT&T Stadium as Swinney answers suspension questions
Second-ranked Clemson arrived at AT&T Stadium in Arlington Christmas Eve afternoon with three suspended players and controversy in tow. The Tigers practiced for the first time in the stadium where the Cotton Bowl will be held, but that news was overshadowed by head coach Dabo Swinney’s announcement that three players are – for now – suspended for the Dec. 29th game against Notre Dame. Been reading about this and it is hitting a lot of professional folks in a big way. Dexter will not play for Clemson, Galloway will lose a year, and I'm not sure about the other guy. Some of the track or cycling people lose 2-4 years of their livelihood. This stuff is manufactured overseas and then other products go through the same assembly line. Also this stuff stays in your system for a long time. The NCAA has a zero tolerance for all PEDs. This is going to screw a lot of people.

No kidding. I think this is a joke. Ohio State gets popped for selling rings, shoes, etc. for Ohio State-they get suspended for 4 games. But.... oh, you can play in the bowl game, we'll just start the suspension for the 4 games that are meaningless next year. NCAA is far from consistent. Bet you there is some big action about to go down in Vegas in the next 36 hours

It was most likely the basic urinalyses test, and those test has many many times come up with false positives, and that is the main #1 reason tha a retest is required when it comes up with a positive test. Urine test are a cheap easy test use to rule out drug use if they are a negative test. But if they ever read a positive test, a more expensive test is given to make sure that the urine test didn't sense a compound that is in illegal drugs that can cause a false positive. The urine test only cost them from $15 to $20 bucks a test, and it is the cheapest way to rule out drug use on an average if nothing has been taken that can interfere with the test. Like some nasal sprays can cause a false positive in a test that test for amphetamine. There are some herbs or herbal teas that can cause a false positive for one of the chemical in Marijuana!!! Urine test are a cheap test like I've said, used to just to rule out any drug behavior. People that don't live on cross the counter vitamins and herbals will most of the time test negative, and there is no need for the more expensive test. In the long run, they save lots of money by giving the urine test first!!!

Doesn't only 3 players get tested?

Something is fishy here.
No way in H3ll these guys took anything knowingly. Even unknowingly, I have my suspicions.
To be suspended for a trace, that's bull crap.
I had a friend who made the Jr World Cross team and was going to represent the USA. Failed a drug test b/c of the over the counter cold medicine he took night before (so he could get a half decent night's sleep). The drug testing system is crap.

The most reliable test is a skin scraping, blood, or hair. If they read a positive test, they are about 98-99% accurate bc they are only looking for the main ingredient of what drug they are looking for, and they're not a broad spectrum test like the Urinalysis test is!!!

I guess when they were spiking the test they saw the name Lawrence and dropped it in,not bothering to look at the first name. Probably better for us that way. But they might be more accurate before the national title game.

It's a sad thing when things like this happen, and it do happen to the best at times. I'm a 100% sure that Dabo, the accused players, and their legal representation will work this in an effort that will prove innocents or guilt. The most depressing part of this is, if one or all of these guys are found to have had a false positive, this will mean that they were punished over an incident that they had no part in creating. There is no justice for the falsely accused when punish before innocents or guilt has been confirmed one way or the other, they just have to sit back and accept being persecuted without clear cause. It should be, and it would seem that when things of this nature are brought against a student athlete, that before punishing the accused athlete, that there would be and should be an immediate test of better quality be given to the accused, or suspended punishment until a retest can be given to the accused. A billion of we're sorry this happen to you won't ever be enough to amend for the harm done to these young men if they're not guilty and not allowed to play in the games they have worked their butts for years to play in. And if they were allowed to play, and then it was found that they had taken a drug, then punish them for taking the drug, and there is no harm done to anyone bc the guilty will be punished for a full year from that date that guilt was proven!!! You don't hang a man before you have proved beyond a doubt that they were in fact guilty of a hanging crime, just saying!!!

Sad that Big Dex may have played his last game as a Tiger. Know he didn’t want to go out like this. Doubt he knew. Coaches gotta know what these guys take to get/stay healthy.
