And I hope everyone saw that against better opponents we are getting pushed around on both sides of the ball and our Head Coach has either gotten away from fundamentals or has become complacent!

"Pushed around on both sides of the ball".

At the end of regulation, we had 420yds of offense, they had less than 300. For the game, we had 146yds on the ground, they had 22 (yeah, you read that right...22!).
Geez, the football IQ on this website is sometimes so low that it's staggering.

Work on ending the turnovers. Right now we are capable of finding new ways to lose. Granted this time it was against better competition but we still gave it away. Here’s hoping we can beat Syracuse.

And I hope when they play us in Death Valley, Notre Dame sticks with their new game plan of putting 10 men on the field for goal-line
stands.

This is shaping up to be a very rough year for us, including going into the chicken pen for our last regular-season game. Yesterday, Spencer Rattler completed 18 of his 20 passes for 288 yards and 3 TD’s.

For UNC, Drake Maye was 22 for 30, threw one TD and rushed for two more.

Notre Dame should have beaten OSU. Their QB, Sam Hartman, managed a good game, including what should have been the winning drive in the fourth quarter. On that drive, he completed a pass for 28 yards and another for 25 yards. And remember, this is the guy who lit us up at Wake Forest last year before we finally pulled it out in double-OT (it was DJ’s only great game).

We usually struggle at Syracuse, and next week won’t be any different.

And playing Miami at home? This year that won’t be easy.

So you could foresee the worst Clemson record in a long, long time.

But that said, we saw glimpses of greatness yesterday. If Mafah had done his job and prevented that savage hit on Cade that caused the fumble, I think the momentum was in our favor and we probably would have won. How different the world would look today.

Dabo has built a great program. We dominated the ACC for years, went to the CFP numerous times, and won two national championships. We are in a down cycle now, but we can come back. Dabo can lead us back to greatness. As for his positive comments about his team after yesterday’s loss: What do we expect him to do? Acknowledge that this team—and our teams of the last two years—are just not that good? No, he has to stay positive, he has to keep motivating and inspiring young boys who are barely men. If he sounds “delusional,” as one Tigernet correspondent said, so be it. Whatever works to keep their spirits up and focused on the future. Go Tiguhs!

You are one of the few people on this board who gets that Dabo is NEVER going to come out and say anything bad about his team. He's never going to apologize for anything. He has to keep things going in a positive direction and for him to do so would be like a death wish. Besides - this program is like his 4th child. Parents don't trash their children (most of the time, anyway).

I’ve seen a team that isn’t good enough to win the ACC.

Now let’s just hope we can beat South Carolina.

Another coaching mistake. The beach boy kicker should not have been put in that position. I want to know who made the coaching decision to call plays to setup a field goal and not go aggressive for the touchdown. Fans in the stands were livid at the play calling during that series.

The loss yesterday was brutal for everyone wearing Clemson orange. The team was two plays away from having a win and all season goals intact. I loved the effort that the team showed. I cannot imagine what it was like playing in the heat because I was melting and burning in the stands. I feel that Cade deserves some grace because his playing time was not handled correctly last season. The coaches are fair game for criticism. What was Wes thinking with the 3 man front? And yes Dabo, you should have helped your QB more with instructions during the OT drive.

I do have a question. Does the current commitments for the 2024 class fulfill all needs for the team next season. If not, what position will need to be improved by a portal player. TIA and as always, Go Tigers.

serviceable QB and can be steady. I think the future QB recruiting should be all in the Georgia, Alabama and or the deep south. No doubt we had great success with two great ones from the state of Georgia. But then again in today's College Football World you probably need to buy one.

Yes, Cade was a 5-star recruit, but I worry that he is more like Kelly Bryant and Cole Stoudt than Watson and Lawrence. Bryant and Stoudt were solid quarterbacks, but they were not the kind of QB you have to have at the elite level. Take a look at the quarterbacks for the teams left on our schedule. Some of them would quickly put Cade on the bench, and the others would make it a tossup as to which one starts. And by the way, have you followed DJ’s progress at Oregon State? He is not playing any better there than he did for us. Another highly touted 5-star recruit who turned out to be just average. If he does not break out in Oregon State’s remaining games, no NFL team will waste a draft pick on him.

By the head coach that this team was capable of a playoff run again after a couple years absence.

Well, the talent is there. But from this statement, I don’t know if the team ever believed in themselves as a playoff contender. Maybe, but Cade as the top QB in a recruiting class should be more confident in himself.

This team is capable of being 4-0 and a top 5 ranking at this point. However, the mistakes are simply too much to overcome. It’s a bit coaching, a bit execution, and a lot of misfortune created by mental mistakes that simply cannot happen to stay unbeaten.

Love the Tigers, but all this talk about how much this team showed in fighting through the game only to not execute when it mattered is frustrating to everyone.

Come back stronger next week in Syracuse. They are 4-0, maybe this n we XT game can be the start of better execution and a 4 quarter performance of good solid football.

Go Tigers!!

Cade sounds like the gamecock board after UGA. “We were close” and “hope people saw how good we played against a high ranked team” is NOT the standard. I’ve been saying all year - this team does not have that “edge” that our past successful teams had. Doubt Trevor, DW, Boulware, Wilkins , Skalski and others would never say look at us- we played better and were close.

it's so easy to say the sky is falling and we will probably lose 3 or 4 more games.
if and that's a big if the Tigers can quit making game changing critical mistakes its possible to win out. Minus a few plays the Dline was dominant. FSU capitalized on all of our mistakes. Another thing who says FSU is gonna win out? That isn't guaranteed.

This year's team is really on the bubble for being memorably bad or good. Two losses, two wins against warm-up teams that don't mean much, and challenges ahead that will show far more clearly than any of Dabo's laughable salesmanship (the former real estate agent in him just oozes to the surface as he engages in stupid-speak about future national championships---just embarrassing) where this team actually is and where his program is headed. Huge advantages this year with home games against FSU and Notre Dame. I can only imagine what the score would have been in Tallahassee yesterday, because Clemson would have played a bit worse and FSU somewhat better. That is just how it goes for all teams. Anyway, on the bubble, as Clemson football slowly bleeds out.

I say "his" program about Dabo, because his view on the portal defines and places a low ceiling on the team's efforts. The evidence of the value of the portal is all around us, including yesterday, and Dabo is just too stubborn to allow himself to see it. It is hard to imagine this year's struggles not having a negative impact on recruiting. As long as the portal remains a one way street, this program will be wheel spinning, as Clemson continues to bring a knife to a gun fight.

The exact attitude I hate

I didn't see nothing but a team that lost a game they should of won....

I remember Ben Boulware being so upset over a loss that he couldn't even speak to the media.....I MISS THAT PASSION

We know what you're capable of...

Sep 24, 2023, 2:13 PM

Yet, you (the team) didn't get the job done when there was ample opportunity to do so.

The difference between being good and great at anything is in the mastery of the details. Details matter at this level. You're not there yet.

Trying to get your messaging to the fans perfected is a deflection tactic. We see extremely well what you're are and are not capable of, without your prompting.
