They don't need a name...till they get the important one: "Champions."

I’m sure they will, Billy!
The leadership on our defense is showing - Muse, Simmons, Terrell, Wallace, Smith, and Skalski are all 3d and 4th year players - and there is no doubt in my mind these guys ARE not only leading the team ON the field, but in the locker room and practice fields every day.
Bring on the Tide, the Buckeyes, and the other Tigers!!!

Tanner is right and it must be somewhat frustrating for the players. But I do believe that the Clemson folks know how good they are because we wondered what this D would be like after the graduation of so many starters from last year's team. What a tribute to Coach V and the players this year's performance had been. Please know that it is appreciated and please keep it up. Go Tigers

BV has had a H e l l of a D ever since he came to Clemson, and every year there is always talk mostly from the outside stating that our D wouldn't be as good as the past D, and every year it's as good or better than the past year, and I do believe that it's all BV and the players that he recruits to fit what he like to do on the defensive side of the ball, Fact!!!

Don't defenses with names usually lose?

Do you think Tanner would approve of "the BVDs"?

ESECPN will not talk about Clemson’s defense (or any other defense for that matter) because if they do, then they’ll have to talk about how weak the SEC defenses are this year and that doesn’t fit the make believe narrative that ESECPN is selling to the SEC Bubba’s.

This story references the Clemson as having the 4th ranked total defense in the country. Not quite sure how they define “total defense”. Per national stats today, here is the breakdown of defensive categories and where they rank:
Average Total yards per game (246.1) - 6th Average Passing Yards per game (136.1) - 2nd Average Rushing Yards per game (110) - 19th Average Points per game (11.4) - 6th
BTW, here are the categorical rankings for the offense: Average Total yards per game (525.9) - 4th Average Passing yards per game (271.8) - 33rd Average Rushing yards per game (254.1) - 11th Average Points per game (42.4) - 7th

Interesting. That’s where I was looking. The numbers are the same, but I swear when I looked this afternoon, they were #6 Total. I must be going crazy.

goal line stand, or sack/PBU/interception to close out the game! Love watching a Venables-coached defense! He doesn't disappoint! The man's an evil genius... glad he's on our side!
