I do love that play. We absolutely flooded the right zone and had Antonio Williams on a pitch route that froze one of the defenders. I'd like to see that play again against LSU.... ">

Green obviously can run the play just fine, but it's right down Adam Randall's alley.
The thing about that play is that you don't know who will be open - there are 4 targets on the right side 2 go routes, a sluggo and a swing pitch, plus one on the left running probably a slant or cross.
It's one of the best passing schemes I've ever seen....

It always annoyed me how the coaches didn't play the other running backs more last season. I like Mafah, but it was obvious he wasn't healthy, and he couldn't run effectively injured. I remember before the Texas game, the media was asking Dabo about what to do at RB, and he got defensive and said something along the lines of: "Y'all must really not believe in Jarvis Greene, etc." And I was thinking: No, YOU must really not believe in them because you refused to give them any meaningful playing time all season long! There were plenty of chances to give some snaps to Greene, Easy-E, etc., but the coaches just stubbornly kept running Mafah out there every single play despite the fact he just wasn't himself. It eventually got so bad that they had to pivot to Haynes, who did have some good moments, but then when he got injured there was nobody with any experience left behind him. This version of Jarvis Greene could've been helping the team all season long, but the coaches refused to put him on the field.

💯.
I'm still concerned about moves like that and our habit of taking our foot off the gas on offense last year. There were also enough coaching gaffs in the UL game for a whole season. We finally used the portal to address the major issues and have a veteran team overall, but let's not pretend there weren't a few other issues to clean up.

Happy for Jarvis! I thought he played well in that game and glad he got a taste of playing in a big game. Like others I thought the coaches should have played him more due to Mafah’s injury.
