Homer was a good QB, and he was a NC winning QB, but IMO, Woody Dantzler was the best option QB to ever play Clemson FB in my time since 1962!!!

Homer was a little water bug. He and Perry Tuttle had amazing chemistry that year. Loudest I have ever heard DV was that UGA no question. Never once heard the PA announcer and could not talk for 3 days !

Loved Homer, ball control was his game and he did it well!
I never remember getting upset with Homer over a dumb play, he was steady!

I’ll never forget our whole house was jumping up & down along with the whole neighborhood when we beat Nebraska, I was 13 years old going crazy.
Homer was great that season. He rose to the occasion every time he needed to that season. Remember that wake Forest game 82-24 & North Carolina 10-8.

rode down to Miami in a pick-up with a camper in the truck bed. Campground was $8 per day. One of the guys had a girlfriend in Tiger Band so we ate at the buffet several times to save money. Never heard a single word from the PA system at the game. Loudest game I've ever attended. Including our seats at DV for every year since 1984.

What a game that 1981 UGA was. Old Hershel didn't score we held them to 3 points and Homer became the man. Great year and great memories. Who would have thought we would score 82 on WF. I sure hope Homer gets to stay in Georgia, I do not want to lose to them.

within an hour of Athens. That's true for HJ and DW but TL would have had to be really be hauling asss to get from Cartersville to Athens in one hour. Those two places are right at 100 miles from each other.

I was a sophomore at Clemson in 1981. Great times in DV! The Defense was bada$$ back then. Didn’t let Herschel or George Rogers find the end zone. Homer was the man!
