I’m all for women’s sports, but financially they dont break even unless you’re a very successful women’s basketball team. If you don’t bring in millions you don’t get paid millions. They should be paid something, but the socialism goal doesn’t want to discuss truths, only emotions and “fairness” as they see it.

Next they will require attendance...that's the way liberals work...give money to planned parenthood to kill babies...oh heck let's everyone pay for abortions...We don't like guns...nobody can have one if we don't like em...California burns up every 3 years...wet year everything green. Next year not much getting brown, now it burns the next one! Ever wonder why no big fires at ski resorts...they have fire lanes...5000 Mexicans with herds of goats will stop those fires and make great Cabritos!

I wouldn't get too worked up over the DoE ruling seeing as how there's a change in ownership come Monday. If Trump's DoE upholds it then complain, but considering he wants to get rid of the DoE or at least 100% de-fund it, I wouldn't put much weight into this yet.

Who cares. DOE fact sheet is not law for this admin or the next. Irrelevant if we have a DOE in the future or not. This Title IX question as it relates to the proposed settlement has been a well known issue for some time and will ultimately be settled In court.

Big Tig is exactly right and that is why Title IX will never go away and payouts will have to more equal across all sports. I promise you that no school would want to be first one being on the national news because of a lawsuit.

Title 9 has do with equal opportunity in education for women
Jan 18, 2025, 7:52 AM

It only applies to sports because, unusually, we in the US choose to tie sports with education. If you don't like it, start your own minor league for men only. Private entities that don't recieve federal funds can do basically whatever they want. If women were denied the opportunity to pursue a specific major or denied financial aid due to their gender, wouldn't you have a problem with that? Imagine it happening to your mother, sister or daughter if that helps.

equal opportunity = equal funding per Title 9

My point was more about reflexive opposition to the law, namely by male sports fans. Where/how you spend your money shows your priorities.

South Carolina is a very successful women's basketball program and they lose millions a year so not sure any of them are actually turning a profit.
