Ticket prices - it has started

2

Maybe this has already been addressed. I figured they'd get to it. They're charging more for lower deck tickets than top deck. We already have the graduated seat equity fees. Doing this with tickets is a double whammy. Double jeopardy. Double something.

The better seats have ALWAYS cost more at concert venues.

I am honestly surprised college football is just now getting around to it. And, with the Seat Equity Plan that is now in place, if you can afford lower bowl tickets anyway, the small increase in season ticket prices is really a mere bagatelle in the Grand Scheme of Things. It is a "cost of doing business" for Big Time College Football.

Yup...both seat equity fees and ticket prices increased.

For me, that equates to about $200 more per seat, and I have six seats.

Ouch !!!!

It never made sense for it to be any other way

Mar 15, 2023, 12:45 PM

We have about 55K season ticket and 5k student tickets so that leaves about 20K that are sold in other packages, sent to opponents, or are single game purchases. People who aren't donors and don't buy season tickets don't pay seat equity so why would we sell all the seats with the same face value and lose revenue for those customers who would pay a premium for lower deck seats?

In fairness...

people in the lower decks were already paying a premium based on higher seat equity fees.

You're also assuming that the 55,000 season ticket holders are only buying one ticket each which is certainly not the case.

I sit in the lower deck so I know that seat equity is higher

My point was those who don't have to pay seat equity did not have to pay more in the past to sit in the lower deck if any single game tickets were available.

Also I said 55K tickets not season ticket holders. The number of season ticket holders is far less because like you said each one buys multiple tickets.

Probably because they have a tough time selling those 20,000 tickets. That would be the obvious answer

10000-12000 tickets are given to students. Season ticket

Mar 15, 2023, 1:09 PM [ in reply to It never made sense for it to be any other way ]

sales recently were near 60000. Only about 5000 are given to visiting ACC teams, but they hardly ever sell them all. ND will get 5000 this year. USuC gets 8000, best that I remember. If anyone has different info on this, please add to thread.

4,750 free and 5,000 available for purchase. I was only looking at the free number before

I'm not even in the lower deck, but I view this as a hidden fee. If IPTAY wants to switch to a model where you simply pay more money for better seats, then I'm all for that. I know for certain that I'm paying more for my upper deck tickets than many are paying to renew their lower deck tickets.
