Houston is coached by an aggressive, militaristic manner by Kelvin Sampson. His practices are legendary and his tough-as-nails approach applies to every facet of his program, including game day shoot arounds, which are notoriously hard nosed and tough. Failure is not an option for Coach Sampson and his players seem to respond to this culture and love him for it. Losing happens but is not acceptable.

Clemson is coached by Brad Brownell. A great guy and the best we have ever had at Clemson. However, Failure, missed shots, turnovers and losses in big games are accepted and part of the culture.

Totally different mindset!

If you don’t think his practices are tough, you’re not paying attention,

When I played the game, if a player was not hitting shots, he got replaced. 14 points in the first half ? As a coot friend said to me yesterday, you can get someone out of the stands to score 14, maybe even the cheerleaders.

His coot friend is not wrong. Thirteen points at the half is absolutely

stupid. You can't even say all of that was due to McNeese. Sure they played hard, but 13 points?!?

You almost have to try to score that few. Outside shots, no rebounds, lack of energy and focus - that is what attributed to the 13 points more than McNeese.
