Throw Chart: How does Streeter explain this?

It's like I say every week. So easy to game plan against an offense playing in a 5 yard box.

True. And yet the coaches aren't talking about. No reference at all to this changing the game plan. Seems odd.

I don't want them to use the wind as an excuse. But it might explain a few things.

That's just a terrible excuse. I read last Tuesday that Saturday in South Bend was going to be rainy with 40 to 50 mph wind gusts during the day. At kick-off the rain was going to be about gone and winds 20 - 25 mph and diminishing during the game. If no one in the Athletic Departmen knows how to check the weather beforehand, the home game day announcer is Dale Gilbert for goodness sake. He's a pretty good meteorologist so just give him call.

What? Some of those passes were 20 yards throws, they were just sideways, not 20 yards downfield.

Easy if he were to tell the truth. DJ is not a good decision maker so we don't make him make decisions, just give him simple half field reads or screens.

Well its like this increment weather that we learned of just before game time caused us to change our game plan. How's that?

Best part, the lone long incomplete pass was on 4th and 4.***

Some OCs have contracts that stipulate they have final say in play calling.

Does this fit our coaching staff dynamics?

Nov 6, 2022, 6:01 PM

The wind was hardly a factor during that game. 15 mph, that was no excuse for no slants or skinny post routes. When they were forced to open it up late they were drawing flags and moving the ball. He's just not allowed to say the real reason apparently

Re: Throw Chart: How does Streeter explain this?

Nov 6, 2022, 6:03 PM

Bingo. They had no choice but to open it up, it's a shame they wouldn't let Cade take some lumps there.

Don't know about the wind speed at field level, but our seats were blasted, especially late in the game.

The wind was awful on field level til very late. Should

Nov 6, 2022, 8:11 PM

have never thrown anything longer than 15yds. The flags on one goal post were often headed one way and on the other end were headed the other way. You could even see shotgun snaps/punt snaps move.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

play calling too predictable. they knew what we were

He doesn't have to until he answers why we can't block for the run against teams of equal talent.

I was screaming at the TV to throw past the first down marker. Nobody listened.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Does he have to ? I forgot, that's sort of Kyle's job

Nov 6, 2022, 7:12 PM

at least that's what he's paid for.

Re: Throw Chart: How does Streeter explain this?

Nov 7, 2022, 12:43 PM

100% agree. You have 2 tight ends at 6.5 and 6.6 with great hands and we hardly ever throw over the middle. DJ never pulled and ran until second half. Let’s get passed the 5 plays we run and move on to some different ones!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You don't remember those plays from last year?***
