Through the first 3 games...

Sep 19, 2022, 1:57 PM

Production is a lot better on offense vs 2021 (through 3 games). We have been vanilla on offense and played a LOT of people, I expect to see more opening up of the playbook in the coming 2 weeks given the competition.

2021 DJ (Passing) - 475 / 1 TD

2022 DJ (Passing) - 662 / 5 TD (39% increase in yards)

2021 Rushing - 402 yards total / 7 TD's / 4.0 yards per rush

2022 Rushing - 546 yards total / 10 TD's / 5.2 yards per rush (36% increase in yards)

2021 Total Receiving yards - 566 yards / 2 TD's / 9.4 yards per catch

2022 Total Receiving yards - 729 yards / 6 TD's / 11.2 yards per catch (29% increase in yards)

That would be enough to go undefeated last season.
This season will be special... we just need to be patient.

Wonder what it would look like with UGA week 1.

No way to compare the 1st 3 games of last year when we had half a team and played the National Champions with this year.

I appreciate the stats and that is very good news, but certainly those stats have to be skewed with UGA being our first game last year. We are getting into the meat of our schedule. This Saturday will tell us a lot. Honestly, I'm more worried about the defense than I am the offense. We have holes in our secondary we need to close up. Hopefully they don't get exploited by Hartman.

Surprisingly,

we threw for more yards against UGA last year than GT. We also padded the stats in week 2, more so than 2/3 games we've played this year.

Yes, there is a little bit of asterisks next to the numbers, but even with 3 games, patterns start to emerge.

I'm in agreement, we'll know a lot more after Wake. I think we are going to know A LOT more after NC State too.

I'm also in agreement that the Defense is more concerning. Through 3 games we've given up an avg of 315 yards & 14 points per game. Last year, through 3 games, the Defense was giving up 263 yards & 5 points per game.

That's a pretty big difference. I think things have been vanilla there as well. I think we'll continue to see improvement from all aspects of the defense though in the coming weeks.

I think the Secondary will grow up and the

that's a good, useful comparison... if you can equate 2021 national champs with... uhh.. furman.

You forget that we have Louisiana Tech instead of UGA this year? Seems like that would have made a bit of an impact.
