Thoughts on the season after 6 games?

When we were 1-3, a bunch of y'all were thinking we'd finish 6-6 at best. Some thought even worse. Few thought much better.
But after pasting UNC and BC - granted, probably the two worst teams in the conference - have opinions and outlooks changed?
I think the SMU game this weekend will really be what shows where we really are now. Are we still the same team from 1-3 who got lucky by having some seriously weaker teams to play? Or are we really getting better, more confident, and playing to potential?
We still have some potentially tough games on the schedule - pretty much all of them that are left, except Furman. So this back half will really show us what we have.
So - has your outlook changed any after blowing out two inferior teams?

Based on FPI, Troy is the best win. We have beaten bad teams and lost to two good teams. I think the loss to LSU shook confidence and they hit a low with Syracuse. These past two weeks have built confidence and having more insight into the remainder of the schedule, Louisville seems like the only definite loss. Outlook is trending up but they need to beat a decent team.

There is no definite loss on the schedule. I also would say that Furman is the only definite win. I honestly feel this team could drop another 3 or so or could win out.
This team will go as Cade goes. He needs to play well.

Looking at Clemson's schedule objectively...

I'm not sure I see four more wins. Clemson will, of course, beat Furman. Beyond that, SMU, Duke, FSU, and Louisville will all be tough outs. The match-up with the Capons will be a total toss-up.

One game at a time, get better each game, play to your potential… if they do that, they should do well…. This is a bigger test, but we should win…. If we improve a little, win like we should, I feel better…
If for some strange reason we lose this game, then man, i wont know what to say…….

I'm hoping the early season failure is enough to wake everyone in the building up to changes being needed. Also we've been lucky in these blowouts to see CV take the field and it should be clear to everyone that he should be no where near the field when we play at LSU next season.
If changes aren't made then I think the game has passed our coach by. But the fact that we've responded after the cuse loss and started imposing our will on teams again is a good sign the locker room was not totally lost (see VT/Penn state losing to bums)
If it was more performances like Troy I'd be extremely worried about our trajectory. If we go 8-4 (with a win over that school down in columbia) I'd say that's a decent rebound after starting 1-3
But the start illustrated changes are needed in philosophies as far as talent acquisition, talent development and offensive scheme. Some of our position coaches need a shake up.
The program still has good bones, but there is a ton of work to be done to get back to the elite level.

I am optimistic. Granted UNC and BC aren't exactly stiff competition but they do have scholarship athletes. Their performance against them should provide some confidence. Now the rest of the way, every game Clemson needs to play the whole 60 minutes. My biggest concern is actually is with the D. That is where the most improvement is still needed.

thankfully Clemson took care of business and put them away early in each game, pretty much anyway.
Cade health is huge, is he injured more than CDS is saying ?? Mentions he was nicked up already and the way he limped to sideline looked pretty bad.
SMU will be a big test, but with this team in 2025 it is impossible to forecast anything. A very trying season on the players, on coaches, on administration, just weird and out of sync from game 1.
1 day, 1 game at a time with this Clemson football team. No overlooking anyone at this point, bring your best game or things will get worse as season progresses... By the Coot game, I sure hope we are playing much better because they will be super amped to beat us in the roachbowl... Our guys need to be fully energized to withstand the early barrage that Beamer ball will provide, they are light years ahead in special teams and they will try some trickery, guaranteed.

I think we split the next 4, and beat Furman. Coot game is a toss up so either 6-6 or 7-5.

surprise over-perform at least twice more. No consistency, D is soft. Offense pretty good against zero teams.
We'll lose at least 2 more.
Probable to the coots and to Louiseville. Toss up to the Shetlands, and See men wholes

Outlook is still the same. I would like to see us string together a nice streak of beating teams that are in the top 50 and go from there. But until we beat teams like Louisville, SC, FSU, Duke again consistently, I will say serious changes are needed.

After the break we have seemed like a different team. Yes , competition has a lot to do with that but there's more to the story.
Riley has turned up the wick on this offense. Heck , we're getting all three TEs touches whereas before you wouldn't think we had a TE.
That's just one example but I digress.
That's a different team out there than the one that took the field against LSU.
What if Dabo told him to turn it loose ? At this point what is there to lose. I can imagine that happening.
What if they haven't even hit their stride yet ? That's possible. It's as equally possible as the naysayers belief that we finish with 5 or more losses. Nobody knows.
We could easily be the high octane offense everybody thought we would be to start the season
Peeking at the right time , as the saying goes.
I tell ya what. If we run SMU off the field , and it's possible , you'll have your answer.

I believe the wins over UNC and BC gave our team some confidence.

I also believe that those wins could result in a rude awakening against an SMU team which is much better than those two.
