Thoughts on FSU vs. Clemson.

In random order.
Rule #1 for a fan, never overreact to one game.
The FSU team that looked so good against Wake is the same team that looked like a HS JV team the previous game at Stanford.
If I were a gambler, which I'm not, I would stay so far away from this game I'd be checking cricket lines in the India Premier League. (Well, I might take the over, whatever that is.) Clemson is a 2.5 point favorite. I would not be shocked if Clemson won by 30. I would not be shocked if FSU won by 30.
If the Clemson secondary plays like they did against Duke (which I am not expecting) Duce Robinson (Noles best receiver) may have 10 catches for 300 yards and 5 TDs. (Only a slight exaggeration.) I am not expecting that at all.
If FSU offense plays the way they did in the 4 game losing streak it could very well be a 40-10 win by Clemson.
A week ago FSU fans were blasting the AD for not firing Norvell on the plane ride home from Stanford. Now, FSU fans are split, "Oh no, if we win out Norvell won't be fired and we're stuck with him next year" and "Hey, if we win out this could be the start of a great season in 26." The point is, both groups are at least thinking is it possible, hughly unlikely but possible, to win out.
So, if y'all want me to analyze this game and give you pointers on FSU, forget it. As a guy on an FSU website said this morning in a podcast, "If I sound confused that's because I am. I have absolutely no idea what to expect from this team this Saturday, much less the rest of the year. If we lose does that mean Norvell should be fired? If we win by 20 does that mean he's safe? I have no idea. So, don't ask me. I'm confused."

One thing I’ve noticed this season is that fans from all over the country are dumbfounded by the lack of consistency in their teams (some more than others, obviously). I really think we are starting to see the lack of focus and heart that would undoubtedly occur when you give 18 - 22 year olds millions of dollars before they’ve ever purchased their own insurance, applied for a mortgage, etc.
College football will adapt over time, but I’m not sure we will recognize what it becomes.

Fans all over the country are befuddled.

You are correct. Listening to an FSU podcast this morning, the two guys spent 15 minutes comparing FSU fans and Clemson fans at this point in time. (The podcast is called WakeUp Warchant. They even jokingly apologized for making it WakeUp Tigers at one point.) No point in rehashing it here but the bottom line is fans of both teams are understandably all of the following - mad, confused, disagreeing with each other over the problem and the solution, questioning whether their coach should be fired or not, etc.

Always love your insight. I'm not a fan of portal and NIL madness, but one thing it has definitely brought is parity. Did anyone ever think Vandy and Indiana would be two of the stronger teams in the country at the same time?

Until Clemson plays at home like they actually care I will expect nothing but Ls. Ive never seen a Tiger team look so bad at Death Valley with this level of consistency in my life and I've been a fan since I was 5. I'm in my late 50s now.

Bi-polar football

But based on Clemson’s bi-polar performances this year: 1. Cade will follow up his excellent Duke performance with an egg leaving us all scratching our heads. 2. Pass defense will be good, but the Noles will run wild. 3. Noles win on a blocked FG.
