He came for interviews today, and I asked about how the perception that he and TJ Parker don't have the stats that were expected and how he would respond to the criticism that the effort isn't there.
"If I'm in here talking to you with 10 sacks and 15 tackles for loss, we'd still be 1-3. I'd still come in here and say I have to get better. I take full accountability for that. At the end of the day we're a 1-3 football team. It's all about what we do this next coming week."
He told another reporter, who followed up that question with a question about effort, with "I think we play hard."

He has zero sacks thus far. Zero QB pressures. In fact, not ONE of our DL has a sack this year. Not one.
Meanwhile, FSU has 4 down linemen with at least 1 sack each.........

Even that’s not true. Without looking it up, I know for a fact Capeheart and Green both have sacks.

I have always felt Woods was overrated. I really don't mean that as a jab at him either. I think he is a good, far from Great player. I look at the production of Wilkens, Bryant, Ferrell, and Lawrence, and this group was supposed to rival that. I've not only not seen that this year, I've not seen anything close to that in 3 years. Parker and Woods are both good players, but neither is "dominate". To be honest Heldt and Capehart have been much more disruptive this season, and even they have been average. This is what I meant the other day when I said much of our "Talent" has been misevaluated.

I agree that Woods or Parker have not been dominate. Disagree that Capehart and Heldt have just average.

Def cause some of those TFL's could've came against GT in the 4th qtr and things would've been dif. I still blame the Offense slightly more than the Defense, but there's 0 complementary football right now.

also, the fact that he says that we'd be 1-3 regardless of what his production is, says a ton about how he really feels about the leadership and diretion of the program. He's basically just collecting a check because he feels it doesn't matter what he does, because there is a lack of leadership or direction

So in his mind, his level of play on the field wouldnt have made a win happen due to “other problems he knows about” and when he sees those issues corrected, he can level up his effort to contribute to what he determines to be a winning effort by all. Nice. Exactly what we have seen so far.

Yeah, the NFL scouts are going to see the effort these guys put in. If Parker and Woods are satisfied with the effort they're putting in and they're still not impacting games then they're just not as good as everyone thought.
If you're being double teamed by two linemen from Syracuse and they're blowing you off the ball what do you think is going to happen in the NFL?
