Question. Do you guys know a mean and nasty person

who attends church on a regular basis. I said this earlier and you guys threw out names like Dawkins, Lewis, etc. This guys were already professionals before doing the religious thing. They already learned how to be nasty men and then became holy. Our guys never learn to be an SOB because they go to church every Sun. while still in college. I don't know of a single coach known for his physical nature that didn't yell f**k on the sidelines a time or two.

but I don't think the two are mutually exclusive. Sit tight, we'll come up with a mean nasty sob that has been a Christian all of his life. As a side note, I played baseball and football for Fisher Deberry, the former football coach at the Air Force Academy. He was one ruthless bstd, but a fine man and a finer Christian. That's my entry.

Its seems to me that Dabo is a very positive person but when something goes wrong he cannot correct the situation. To me you have to me even headed with if watch Nick you can never tell if bama is winning by 10 or losing by 10. Dabo is running around or has his head down. YOU PLAY LIKE YOU PRACTICE AND THE TEAM TAKES ON THE PERSONALITY OF THE HEAD COACH........Clemson has been soft/fitness since we hired Bowden

I have know plenty of mean, nasty people that go to church every sunday and many good, warm people who don't. The reverse is true as well. Choosing to be a Christian or not has nothing to do with attitude on the football field.

I disagree. Most people have this misconceptiom that Christians have to be soft individuals who don't have a mean to streak or aggressive side when that is completely false. Look at the Bible. Peter, a disciple of Christ, cut a guards ear off. Jesus flipped tables in the temple. Sampson killed killed hundreds of philistines and was a great judge for God. David killed a giant in Gods name and often went into battle telling his enemies that he was going to destroy them in Gods name. Christians don't have to be soft. There is just a time and place for everything and the intent in which you do something really matters. As a chritian athlete myself, I always told my teammates that we should be seen as the most aggresive and hard nose players in which we glorify God by our intensity.

This is really a disappointing post. Anyone with google and 5 minutes can disprove this hypothesis.
I know you can do better. You need to focus, and have a couple barn burner type brain storms. Before you know it you ideas will be SEC strong. You'll mentally push your opponents around. Now eat some blue berries, and focus on your next post.

Coaches who were "churchy" men. My high school wrestling coach, under whom we won multiple state titles, was a very devout Christian, but a Demon of a coach. He is now the AD at Dorman. Went straight up the ladder.
I have also known religious men who are fierce competitors in many sports. You post and point are lame.

Troy Polamalu is a very religious individual. To the point where you'll find him doing the sign of the cross repeatedly on the sidelines. Few will argue he isn't an an aggressive football player.
Ultimately you don't want to measure how "physical" a coach is, rather we want to measure their success (wins, titles, etc). There are multiple coaches who were not physical who will be future hall of fame coaches. For instance, Tony Dungy is very religious and is considered one of the most successful coaches during his days.
Amanda, your post is ignorant. Though you don't state it, your underlying correlation between physicality and success is flawed. And your attempt at correlating religion is pathetic at best.

you can't be mean and nasty? Tebow and Spiller played pretty hard - clean - but hard. Christ became very mean and nasty several times - he took a whip and beat the daylights out of folks in the Temple.

"Bad communication corrupt good manners."
Sending or wishing someone to h3ll is a curse which is forbidden. It's not that we have any power to condem anyone, it's a matter of usurping God's position and Judge.
I'll give you the reference passage from which that concept is founded if you wish.
Most folks make a big deal out of 'cussing,' simply because it is a sin of evidence. The horrible condition of a man's heart can be covered.
