Why do Republicans want to lose the Presidential election in 2024?

Trump has no chance in the general election. None. Yes, his base will vote for him but no other person, left right or center, who respects the rule of law will vote for him. He will lose. Bigly.
I can't stand the thought of any more years of the Dems in power. It has already hurt my business, hurt my retirement, etc. Socialism is not good.
And yet if Trump gets the nomination, we will by default get 4 more years of the Dems.
No, I do not think a 3rd party candidate can win. When it comes ballot time the Dems will hit on abortion and identity politics and the rule of law and they will win. Even an 80+ year old Joe Biden.
Can't the GOP see this? Why don't they stop it?

Why. 'Cause of mail in ballots, drop boxes, and ballot harvesting. Unless the GOP ups their game to the level of the Dems, it doesn't matter who runs. Oprah would lose as the GOP nominee as it stands. Need proof: see Fetterman.
The Dems elected communists, muslim extremists, socialists, and two brain dead vote puppets over qualified GOPers.

The republican voter base is never going back to neocons. The only people who still believe a word out of their mouths are 70+ years old. That era is over. The GOP will either never hold power again, or change.

Because some rather than electing the most conservative person who can win, would rather fly flags and give the finger to the system and try to elect a person with no history of a core political philosophy.
Huey Long was ahead of his time. In 2016, maybe he would have been elected too.
Trump will not win barring something completely crazy happening that would make Trump haters hold their nose and support him over Biden.
It's a nationwide mindset among Trump supporters clinging to the failed past, much like folks in the South still displaying Confederate flags as if there is going to be a do over with the Civil War.
If Trump is the nominee, the GOP will lose the House, probably not retake a Senate ripe for the taking and then welcome to a non filibuster Senate along with our 51st and 52nd states DC and Puerto Rico and an expanded Supreme Court, but alas it will feel so good.

Fine. Biden? Fine. They’re both normal people that will put US interests above their own. These dumb phukkin twidder idiots, crooks, and MAGAts need to GTFO of politics and Americans shouldn’t tolerate them. Menendez? Put him in jail. MTG/ Gaetz vote their dum basses out…never should’ve been there in the first place.
Between WH/senate/house I hope to have a good mix to facilitate checks and balances, not people that are power hungry for the sake of power and no regard for responsibility. This can’t stand dems/can’t stand pubs mentality is soap opera entertainment BS that Americans gobble up with casserole spoons and it’s just stupid.
Give me people that would rather get to work than go on foxnews to chatter or bloviate on twidder.

distrustful of government and the traditional politicians that have always run it, and their well intentioned but horribly misguided belief that a tool like Trump who, simply because he very boldly says F*CK YOU to those politicians, is just what we need. They believe he sees right through all of the BS and will give those bad politicians what-for, which will MAGA. To some extent they're right, but because they are so enamored of this "F-you" figure, they very eagerly and naively swallow his load as long as he's telling them what they want to hear.

I mean he got something like 9 million more votes in 2020 than 2016 which was unprecedented.
You think after 4 years of f***ing everything up Biden still wins?
When you account for ballot stuffing, nobody will ever win who is not a member of the uniparty.

Birm, you keep forgetting that there was widespread Election Interference in 2020 by the DOJ, Big Tech, FBI, MSM, You-Tube, etc. That's what gave Brandon the win.

I hope you are accurate and he has no chance, but I think he wins. He will the swing states. He leads in every poll of all 7 of them. I know I will be voting against him. I would prefer Nikki Haley over them all, but I definitely am voting Biden over Trump here in NC. I think you are wrong though and that Trump will win. People are that easily duped by a conman fraud. The stuff that comes out of his mouth is laughbly unrealistic and insane. As a psychologist, how woukd you diagnose him? I am interested.

Yeah, it is frustrating. I suppose it is the real and perceived power bases of senior politicians. There are enough Trump supporters among the power brokers that thwart an uprising against Trump along with the lack of a clear leader among GOP candidates to get behind.
The recent polls showing Trump with higher support than Biden also hurts a lot. These polls convince voters that Trump can win which has a snowball effect.
