This is a program changing game

Even more so than the National Championship last year. If we win we are no question perceived as passing Alabama as the dominant program in America.

Perhaps. But Dabo and even Nicky don't think one game defines a team. Although I must say I think this contest is pretty darn important.

It’s a big game but no where near as big as last year’s natty in relationship to importance for the program.
Now if we had lost last year then it would be the program defining game.
You don’t want to have a great run and not get a title out of it ala Oregon.

I don’t know if I personally believe that but it for sure is a monster game!!
On reddit CFB, there was a thread saying that if Dabo wins this one, his all time win percentage will pass Nick Saban, kind of an interesting tidbit.
That thread was fun to read as it turned into if Clemson wins, have they surpassed AL, is Clemson a dynasty and another part of the thread was an argument on if Dabo had surpassed Stoops already in his career.
If you have time you should check it out, it’s not a one team board as it’s everyone in CFB, so it’s interesting to see the national perception of Dabo and Clemson from fans of many different teams.

There are a lot of programs that have made a profession out of revenge on Clemson. Alabama will be no different.

if we beat them two years running. If we don't win, I guarantee some ESpin talking head will start calling last years win a "fluke" or "an aberration". This one is equally as important to perception, if not more so than last year, especially with the view by some that Bama shouldn't have even made the playoff. (I disagree, think the committee got it right.)

Program Changing for............Alabama

WHEN we win, the rhetoric will shift to the "potential" downturn, loss of edge, growing older Nick Saban and the Alabama program. While it is true that we will get a lot of respect, their will always be naysayers of our Orange and black stripes. Alabama will lose some of its luster and so will the SEC especially if Georgia wins and we ransack the heralded "Top Dawgs" of their conference. Make no mistake, ESPN "needs" their biggest college football investment to pay dividends and the numbers say they have greater than a 50/50 chance this year. Our program will not change win or lose, it has already changed. Our team will be even better next year and of the title contenders this year no one but Georgia can boast the same. College football will change but Not Us.

They definitely have more to lose. This will rock the foundation of their dynasty. Clemson will knock them from that balcony they have been sitting on.

The NC game at the end of the 2015 season was a program changer, even though we fell a bit short. We showed the college football world we belonged on the big stage.
