We should wrap the OOC schedule at 8-3, and with the ACC shaping up to be way off its usual strength, and our schedule skewing towards the league's back end for our 2-game series, and already at 1-0 with the big win over Wake at home, we could easily, and should easily really, go at least 11-8 the rest of the way, good for around a 6th - 7th place finish.
Loyola was a bad loss, and we'll still have our share of those (SCar already, more to come), but we will also stage a few upsets - it's the nature of the game, and we all know the Wheel of Destiny element Brad has in him for those occasional head scratchers.
Will 20-11 be enough though for an NCAA invite? Maybe a 21-12 post ACC tourney? It will be close.
Bottom line is, the stars have aligned well for Brad to 'overachieve' again this coming season, to improve from an 11th place projection to better than middle. From top to bottom it might be his best roster since 17-18, and we can clearly see that our league competition is as down as we've seen in ages. Add in the hot seat year motivation, and we have a recipe for decency up ahead.
FWIW - Brevin Galloway mentioned during an interview with Don Munson early season prior to one of our games that the team goal was to make a 'deep run in the tournament' this season - that that's the expectation, which was encouraging to hear. Team goals aren't shared really with the public, so it's heartening to know that Brad and the squad have that in their heads as the target, with the belief they can achieve it.

If our Plan A is to live and die on 3s all season, I think I would start looking for a Plan B.

As bad as our schedule has been and as bad as the ACC is - less than 20 would be beyond embarrassing.

The NET rating of 188 says no. They will win some you dont expect, but lose some you expect wins. Will stay about the same.
