So this draft is indicative of a decline huh?

Three Clemson players were drafted in 2018.

Dorian O'Daniel in the 3rd, Deon and Ray Ray in the 6th. Then the 2018 team ran roughshod through the college football playoff. I guess that 2018 draft was also indicative of Clemson football between 2014 to 2017.

The recent trend.

they did but it was less talented that ACC Conf winning teams of before. Only got in because there were 12 spots and name recognition. Like UNC did in hoops this year- lefetime achievement award

Thats silly. SMU was also a playoff team.

Who was SMU’s best win?

Look, winning your conference is always a good accomplishment. But let’s stop touting an ACC championship, which resulted in an automatic bid to the playoffs, as some sort of high-level accomplishment when comparing ourselves to elite programs, which are among the best in college football (and not surprisingly, had multiple round one draft picks last night).

As evidenced by the 5th rated basketball league and pitiful results in the two tournaments.

The Clemson football schedule was also considerably higher ranked than basketball.

If we can’t win the league in year 15 when the league was in the worst shape in history, when can we do it?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Clemson football did considerably better than Clemson basketball.

Each coach here about 15 years.

Why has Dabo outperformed Brad every year but one over the last 15 years??

How long do we have to wait to actually not go backwards after a modicum of high level success?

the stature and draw of these two sports is comparing apples and oranges. Hoops can seldom fill LJ regardless of team. Football tix are always scarce. Reputations and name regognition are about the same

well-funded.

Football (and stature) rules most everywhere.

We played the 22nd hardest football schedule and finished 14th.

We played the 57th hardest schedule in college basketball and finished 22nd.

Now how does national popularity and attendance affect that?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You are still missing the point. Just because we had a "bad draft class" in 2018 doesn't mean the 2018 team was bad.

Same as the fact that we currently have a "bad draft class" doesn't mean that the 2025 team isn't loaded.

Yep it means they all came back.

At the Clemson pro day this past March, this is what Dabo said to the media.

"The best thing about Pro Day is we've got very few guys working out (then with a big grin) cause they all back playing for the Tigers".
