With the logjam at qb, and Bryant knowing his NFL chances at QB are slim, seems like he would look at going to WR. I think he could do it given that he is such a top athlete. Plus he would understand all schemes from playing qb.

Well, Braxton Miller did it at Ohio State

He only managed 26 receptions and 341 yards (plus 42 carries and 260 yards rushing) his Senior year and then went on to play WR in the NFL.
I'm not saying that Kelly Bryant should do it, but it has been done before (successfully).

move to WR and Safety. I get moving to wide receiver. but Safety? I get that as a QB you know how a QB thinks and that would give him the advantage. but when I think of safeties I think of Troy Polumalu, Brian Dawkins, and Ronnie Lott. Guys who would take your head off going across the middle. I don't know if you've ever seen a QB play, but 90% of them don't like to get hit lol. So WR seems the best position for a QB to change to.

Braxton Miller. He's playing with DW and Nuk in Houston.
He got hurt in the OB, aggravated it in fall camp, then his backups won a Natty.

Johnson was not ready this season, but he may be ready to break out as a sophomore. He's got loads of talent and a year of being in the system.

Tigers ultimately want a QB who can run...Not a running QB. We all like #2...But his arm doesn't scare anyone. This kid changes everything. Imagine the holes #9 & #28 will have to run through when you have to defend a strong accurate passing game.
Future is bright.

Can u guys just let this play out? It will play itself out one way or another.. but enough talking about KB changing positions. If this were 2006 and we just went 12-2 with an ACC Title and a Sugar Bowl run, we would be trying to make room in the ring of honor for whatever QB did that. TL may come in and beat him but KB deserves our respect enough to not talk about him like he hurt us all year long. We had a bad game in the Sugar Bowl.. but it was more OL than KB anyway.

Streeter says let's not forget the depth chart
Jan 10, 2018, 9:20 AM
|
|
Hunter enrolled early, and could not get past KB, or Zerrick until the end of the season.
We've all seen the film of what Trevor can do, and it's exciting. That said, there's a big learning curve from high school to FBS play.
Let's let the process play out. Yes, It's fun to speculate, but we have no idea how it will end.
This past season flew past in a hurry.
I can't wait for the next chapter, but am trying to enjoy each day (Like Dabo preaches)
Thank you YouTube for full game replays.

People take for granted how quickly DW4 picked things up.
He went from a true freshman who missed spring practice to lighting up the ACC in 4 weeks.
He went from "Not as good as Tom Savage" to "Picking apart the Legion of Boom" in 7 weeks.
That is highly unusual.
Hunter Johnson has struggled adapting to the college game. This is normal. Doesn't mean he's a bust or won't compete for the job next year. Trevor Lawrence looks great on film, but that doesn't mean he's ready to start yet. There's no favoritism, only a recognition that seasons of coaching and growing up usually do make a difference.

That is simply mind-boggling. I'm glad he arrived on campus looking just like the other students unloading a car. Just being a Clemson student is a great experience and I hope he enjoys that.

He's gotta earn it and that's not going to be easy with the talent we already have. KB just went 12-1. Whoever wants his job has to prove they can do better.
I wouldn't be surprised if he was the starter on opening day. I wouldn't be surprised if he redshirted either.

TL, KB or any other QB won't scare anyone if something doesn't get done about the Offensive Line. This was touted to be the best, most experienced group in quite some time. I would say they were streaky through the year, no consistency. Was exposed a good bit by the Tide with equal to superior talent. Yes you can back a defense up and not stay in the box with great DOWNFIELD passing ( bubble screens don't count ) but that's hard to do running for your life or laying on your back. P.S. Having a Tight End to help stretch the field and being unpredictable in play calling sometimes help.

Meh.....
Jan 10, 2018, 2:35 PM

I think the coaching staff knows KB2's potential and is waiting to see Trevors on the practice field. Lets be honest - KB2 took us through a season that many Tiger faithful predicted would be a 8, maybe 9-win season. Though he took us far further than we thought he would, "it" has undoubtable been exposed by both Syracuse & Alabama that (1) stack the box, beat clemson....and (2) KB2 doesn't really have the long-ball capabilities that are needed in a QB.
KB2 is a big guy, tremendous athlete, super runner and all around great guy to have on the team and as a leader....but.....
My personal thought is this: We got banged out by Alabama b/c they were smart enough to know that if they crashed the O-line and got to KB2, it was game-over.
Dabo and co. are going to have to either find out if KB2 can be a better pocket passer next season - or if a 2-QB system would work (which they rarely do) in which Hunter throws and KB2 is your go-to run guy.
Either way - even if TL shows up in the spring with a cannon of an arm, his knowledge of the playbook will be so far behind that of HJ and KB2 that I don't see him starting....
Derrick Cooper transfers.... Chase Brice does too (probably next season).... Spencer isn't going anywhere - scout team is A-OK with him.

One unmistakable thing about Cartersville , Georgia...the huge surf . Salty air slows the days to an endless summer and seagulls cover the sandy parking lots . Without a doubt it's the left-handed barrel Mecca of north-central Georgia . Don't even come at me with that Alpharetta crapp...they only break on a SW swell .
