Think ACC will be fine eventually IF these things happen....

1. Win Baby Win. Winning regular season & bowl games will do the trick, but it takes money & recruits to pull it off..unless you have some players who have a real desire to win no matter what.

So, Clemson beating SEC giant LSU will be a start...and then Georgia in September will be the icing. VT nipping fairly good Rutgers (going to B1G) was a plus for our conference..while Duke lost their opportunity for ACC.

2. Bringing ND into the ACC full-time in football...which probably won't happen, but if it did ACC would have a crown jewel known all around the world..especially if they beat Bama (which would probably give the Domes a big head and allow them to see that they can still stand alone).

3. Louisville was a good choice to bring into ACÇ...but we need one more team to make us a force..and don't know who that would be...but I still like having NAVY on our ship since they're also known world-wide and bring a lot of tradition.

What say you?! GoTiGERs..Stand Up & FIGHT Boys!

ND doing so well this year means it won't join a conference

I understand the independence was initially not a choice. Anti-catholic coaches and presidents kept them out of the big 10 when they wanted in, so refusing the big 10 before was a point of principle. As it is, they are 3 conference games away from being full time ACC.

They've already cut MIchigan from the schedule. The talk was they wanted USC, Stanford and Purdue every year (and obviously Navy), so they'd have to drop MSU. GaTech didn't play a full slate till 88 or so yet was still eligible to win the conference, so some accommodation could probably be made.

Not NAVY. May Cinci.
