The Brad does certainly have a knack for finding good dudes in it. Hopefully dabo can develop that same ability… sadly in this current world his job may depend on it

Yes, it is something else Brad can help Dabo with.

Yes, the portal does work. However, the shining spotlight for this basketball team are the freshmen that Brad recruited from their respective high schools. However, NIL will determine whether or not they stay at Clemson for the entire duration of their collegiate careers. Hopefully, we see that happen and Brad continues to sprinkle in great players from the portal.

Our country won't go on forever, if we stay soft as we are now. There won't be any America because some foreign soldiery will invade us and take our women and breed a hardier race.

Good article!

Im still in wait and see mode with the team. on one hand, we have looked fantastic and have looked better than we have in previous years against similar competition.

On the other hand, I'm not so sure that Ace Buckner being our leading scorer thus far is a good thing. He no doubt has impressed, but I'm not so sure he can be a 14 to 16 point scorer in ACC play.

Pretty much everyone has played at or exceeded my expectations so far. The main person that I have concerns about is Nick Davidson. He no doubt has an extremely high basketball IQ. He is a very good passer and is always in the right spot. He can shoot the ball and he will definitely be a factor for us this year. My only concern with him is athleticism. It certainly says something that RJ Godfrey is doing the tip when he is 3 inches shorter than Davidson. He has also looked a little goofy at times and doesn't seem to possess a great deal of athleticism. I hope he can hold up an ACC play and not be a liability on the boards or defense.

Overall, I am still super excited about this team. We have a very high ceiling and we will be a lot better team at the end of the year than we are now. If we can hang onto this freshman class, we will be a force in years to come!

I wouldn't be too concerned about Davidson. Just had a bad shooting game last night. The Mountain West Conference is as close to a Power 5 Conference. You saw how big and physical Boise State was the last two years when played them. He always put up pretty good numbers against them. Also, Utah State, San Diego State, and New Mexico are physical teams from that league. He is deceptive and will be fine wants he gets used to Coach B's system.

I actually only got to watch the condensed game last night. Stupid youtubetv!

Good point on the mountain west. He's excelled against solid competition. Still not close to the ACC even on down years.

I'm confident it's going to be fun year buy what's most exciting is the future (if all stays in tact).

Probably a hot take but this may be Clemson's finest Freshmen class (Foster, Buckner, Thompson, Thomas) since the legendary Barnes haul exactly 20 years ago (Boogie, Jamison, Christie, Wideman, Jurkunus)

I know Brownell brought in Hall, Blossongame and McDaniels but I'm not sure either of those averaged more than 4 or 5pts a game in their initial year.

It is hard to make too much of Clemson this early, but it is concerning that MSU outrebounded us. Speed and 3's are great, but rebounds keep you alive on cold nights. I like our depth and enthusiasm, but the jury is still out on this team.

I totally agree with that. I'm a bit confused reading the article and comments. I'll be the first to admit I don't know the ins and outs of bball.

But there seemed to be a buzz as well as team breakdowns when bball practice started. Reading those posts, I thought the front court was one of our strengths this year, if not our best strength. At least that's what I deducted from the posts of our big bball posters.

So now I'm confused??

4 @ 6’10”! I can’t recall a taller Clemson team. We could literally start five with the shortest @ 6’9”…that’s strong. Should be a fun season. Go Tigers!

1979 team (my freshman year)

Bill Ross, Moose Campbell, Horace Wyatt, Larry Nance and Stewart Zane were all listed at 6'10".

But no one else was over 6'6"
