It's the same with YouTube TV also, but there is so much reality TV on now, that there is not much that the actors can do as far as making a movie that nobody wants to watch....

The only modern show I watch is Young Sheldon.

IMO, all of them are over paid. Like I was telling the wife, we would struggle to buy a fishing boat, and they can go buy a yacht, and pay cash for it!!!

wouldn't that be the easiest profession to find replacements/scabs? Unless they fear being blacklisted, what do they have to lose after fighting to make it for years?

Like all professions where employees can easily be replaced with literally just about anybody off the street, the Guild fiercely protects itself.

but a Football player can make the argument his career will last 3 years and do untold damage to the body. I am not sure why baseball players get paid so much, they stand around scratching their balls most of the game,
As far as A-listers, they are worried AI will take their jobs, in that their likeness can be digitally reproduced and AI can synthesize their voice, and their concerns are real, they could essentially be replaced by computer generated versions of themselves, which makes me stand back and ask the question, "what is so special that about them that people would go through all of this trouble?"
PS, the answer is the stupidity of the American consumer and the vast amounts of money they allow to be grifted from their wallets over superficial nonsense.

That's bad for me. The bizarre narrative of the general public is so far off the truth what it means to work in the industry. Everybody is working hard and grinding. All you are hearing about is just gossip from news sites that just want to make a buck and usually none of that is even accurate.

reason for this actors strike is that the studios would not agree to keep AI out of pictures in the future. As in, they take the actors dimensions, and then they could morph that into AI generated action on screen without the actor even being around in the future. I can see how the actors would be upset over this.
They were all happy early on when this fledgling technology was used to "de-age" them onscreen. But now suddenly, they have seen where the train is really headed, and are panicking en masse.
