If this is true, Miami is even sleazier than I thought.

Here is the story. While I cannot verify it is true, it seems to be consistent with what we do know.
Manny Diaz is the HC at Miami. He and his staff are on the road recruiting. Miami has no AD. Miami is in serious negotiations with Mario Cristobal. If Cristobal accepts the job, Miami will fire Diaz. If not they will keep him for another year. At any rate, a decision (Mario or Manny) will be made before an AD is hired.
As one website said, "If that seems a bit backwards and the whole situation seems completely unprofessional to you, my friends, you are not alone. "
My conclusion is:
If Mario accepts the job, he's as sleazy as Miami.
Any AD who would accept the job knowing this happened is as sleazy as Miami.

Hard to feel sympathy for Manny Diaz. I hope he has a sweet buyout. It’s a cutthroat job where commitment means less and less. One of the few downsides of being paid millions, it doesn’t last long.
Manny had his chance to turn the program around, the writing was on the wall. Idk what else Miami owes him, a proper firing? It leaves a bad taste in my mouth too, but firing someone rarely feels good.

I have no sympathy for Diaz. From all reports he fits in quite well with the Cane culture.
Just saying, Miami should make up their mind on Manny, and fired him, before they start going out looking for another coach.
"Joe, you're our district manager. We're interviewing someone to take your job. If he accepts, you're fired. If he doesn't, you can stay."

They get paid so much money, I wouldn't worry

Manny will be fine, Mario will be fine. My best guess is DRad is moving to Miami to work 2-3 years and then retire there. If he wanted to retire in Clemson, he'd stay. I'm trying to do the same thing.

Yep. I moved to Clemson 2 years ago to retire here. Everyone has their own individual wants and desires. I know I’m glad I made the move I did.

And BTW, I lived in South Florida and worked in Miami for 10 years. Yes it is sleazy - pretty much everything about it.

Cristobal was expected to go to FSU with Taggart.

FSU might still be a powerhouse had that happened.

Miami and sleazy are synonymous; therefore, they can’t get sleazier.

Who is representing Miami if there is no AD? I'm not saying this isnt true but they are going to let the interim do this when the Pres has authoized them to review the football program?

Apparently it is the president or his chosen person to do the search.

I consider Cristobal to Miami a done deal. It's too late to abort the baby.
Cristobal is in a very strong negotiating position, which IMO, is the reason it's taking so long. It'll get done soon.
However, if for some really bizarre reason he remains at UO, Manny is still a goner because the well has been poisoned.
