and perhaps having another 3 loss or more season. That is likely why they jumped now. This coaching staff needs to turn this ship around this year and stop this downward trend. Else recruits will not see Clemson as a place to go to get to NFL or at least get drafted high. The NFL draft is the real report card on the health of your program. Opposing teams will tout their NFL draft results in recruiting. What will Clemson’s response be? The #s don’t lie.

Your premise is the NFL won’t draft guys from college teams with three or more losses? Your coots had a first rounder which dispels your theory

The better your exposure leading into the NFL draft season. 3+ losses typically misses conf champ game and playoffs… you might get a meaningless bowl game though that no one really watches except the team’s fans. And yes, some players can stand out enough on their own to still be a 1st round pick even if on a crappy team, ut chances are higher of that if you have the SEC hype machine behind you.

Hmm.. the guy drafted #1 overall didn't even play in his team's bowl. If you have played 3-4 years Scouts have plenty of film on you; an extra couple of games won't matter. Also, Washington had 3 first rounders this year, Ohio State only one. Is Washington a better program than %uckeyes now?

I’m sure I’ll catch heat for this, but Shipley wasn’t going tonight. He’ll go tomorrow, which has always been my prediction. Somewhere in the 5th is my guess. I’ve got nothing against him, just calling it how it is.

I wish nothing but the best for Ship, I really do. But from what I've seen, I don't think he makes a big impact in the NFL. KR might be the area where he could contribute. He's tuff and decent straight line speed.

He's undersized and lacks the athleticism to close that gap. It's not all that surprising really. He's been production over traits which is always prone to dropping come draft time.

Your EKG can't cover a slot receiver in spare. His athletic limitations were always going to drop him.

Said before the draft, some team(s) would get a bargain drafting Tyler Davis and Jeremiah Trotter, Jr. Their play on the field greatly exceeds their measurables. They both make teams and earn playing time.

RB is an undervalued position and Trotter plays LB, the defense's countermeasure to the RB-

These guys are late rounders for sure. Trotter will get good advice and show up early and stay late…take any special teams opportunity that he can sniff out. Shipley has some growing up to do and needs to figure out his true value…Im afraid he will be out of the league before the light bulb turns on. I do wish all of them the best.

True, Trotter made the right call coming out. His limitations are speed and cover ability, don't see him being able to improve that plus the possibility of injury should he return. Also, him leaving most likely allowed us to get Sammy Brown so that's a good thing

I don't know why anyone is surprised on Trotter...He's 6 ft and 230 ish LBs on a good day...Completely undersized for a league that drools over measurables and projectability.
