I think, for me, it's their unwillingness to accept Clemson's dominance of the rivalry, at least in football! Clemson's overall record vs them, 3 national championships, multiple conference championships,
bowl record, all mean nothing to them, as long as they hold a current advantage!!

Uh, no. Jawja fans are right up there with TN fans as some of the worst. Vile, repugnant, disgusting. USuCk fans are mouthy but just stupid people for the most part---though some of my closest friends are indeed coots (they chose Uof SCAR law, I didn't). I also put Nancy Tate fans up there as the coots of the ACC.

SCAR fans are so much worse than UGA fans. No comparison. UGA has reason to be proud - full trophy case. SCAR has nothing: yet they act like they are relevant. They were coot clothes every day.... trying to be relevant.

They don't discriminate. They hate all opposing fans equally. From a pure conduct standpoint, they are, by far, the absolute worst fans I have ever been around.
While SCU fans are mouthy, ignorant and deluded, they're effectively harmless. They are the NC State Wolfpack of the SEC.

Them whining about how weak the ACC is. Years ago they said that Clemson couldnāt win a national championship because our schedule was too weak. We werenāt tough enough. Then after we won a couple they said that the reason we won them was because our schedule was so weak- our players were fresh for the playoffs while everyone else was beaten up. When they mention that garbage to me I just ask them how many conference championships they won when they were in the ACC.

Their fans are absolutely clueless. They're ignorance about all things college football is astonishing, and especially regarding their own history. A few examples...
1) Despite playing football for 133 years South Carolina has NEVER won a SINGLE championship. Huh? How is that even possible???
2) They've never won a SINGLE conference championship outright, EVER (7-4 ACC tie with Maryland is the closest they've come).
2) They've never won the SEC. Yet, they've been a conference member since 1992.
3) Despite the fact that every football game against Clemson was played at home in Columbia until 1959 the Tigers still leads the series 73-44-4. Since 1960 South Carolina is just 19-42-1 against Clemson. š
4) They have zero major bowl wins, and boast a paltry 10-16 all-time bowl record.
The list goes on....
Yet, despite their futility their fans think they're a "Big Boy" football program like Clemson, FSU, LSU, UGA, UF, Miami, etc......
How their fans think that being a perennial doormat in the SEC makes them equal to 'Bama, UGA, Auburn, UT, or even Arkansas for that matter makes about as much sense as a screen door on a submarine.

Mehā¦they donāt bother me. I spent two years at USC-Lancaster before transferring to Clemson. Have one kid who went to Clemson, another to SC. I donāt trash talk and if someone tries to engage me in trash talk, I just ignore them. Too many other things in life to worry about.

For a program that is completely irrelevant by virtually every meaningful metric, they are truly, without a doubt the most ignorant, least self-aware fan base you will ever encounter. I dont care for Walt Deputla to be honest, but he had one of the greatest, most succinct comments about the coots you will ever hear: "Know who you are. 110 years of football says youre a loser." It was epic and absolutely spot on.

I grew up in Greenville in the 1950's and most of my friends were
Tiger fans.I moved to cootville 44 years ago and was surprised at
the Clemson fans in my neighborhood.This state is divided and its
where you live on the balance but I've found that most coot fans
that I know and worked with are very nice folks but we like to
needle each other...all in fun.

I worked at Richland Memorial Hospital for three years. Most of their fans were great people and have remained my friends for years. But, there were several who were were pompous elitists who had scant little for which to brag about. They always gloated about being the "flagship university" and producing a Heisman winner. I would just remind them that "Drop the ball, cocaine man" George was the most they ever had. It usually shut them up.

I really hate the way they think they are upper class in foot ball and in reality they are the āsecondā doormat in the SEC NEXT TO Vanderbilt. They brag about how great they are (or will be) all the time they can only brag about their single SEC EAST championship. I used to enjoy going to Columbia for the annual chicken kickin, but their fans are not the āworstā (that title goes to UGA) but their classlessness is awfully close. I donāt care if it is a game of tiddly-winks, I want the Lamecocks to lose! Go Tigers!

Despise is a harsh word. No, I pity them. They get their hopes up year after year only to be met with disappointment. Just think, their best era lasted 5 years under Steve Spurrier. It's so pathetic and I wouldn't say I despise them. However, if the Taliban were playing against the Coots, I would show up to the game wearing a Taliban jersey.

Their utter defiance over the piteous state of their own position in the college football hierarchy. Both presently and historically.
