when I was a student. It was confined to the student section, as it is now.
Every generation of 21 year olds think that they are the first people to ever discover curse words and alcohol.
It's all been done to death - you aren't impressing anybody with your potty mouth and ability to hold liquor. Your momma did the same thing when she was your age.

It's very sad, but also very true. I graduated in May of 2014 and noticed students started doing it about my Junior year and it was worse my senior year. It seemed like a large majority of the students around me were doing it.

down the hill. Excitement builds. Then that dang gum Woohoo show stopping chant starts. Just compare that to the Texas A&M fan activity and you will see how sad it is IMO. The WH makes no sense

Both the woohoo and MF were alive and well between my tenure of 1997-2003. MF was almost exclusively at basketball games though, for whatever reason.

I have to agree, it's shameful. I was a student from 94-98 and never heard it once.
Now I cuss like most adults but having kids taught me to always be aware of my surroundings and never cuss in front of kids or at crowded public places because you never know what little ears are listening.
I experienced the "O MF N" for the first time while on the field with my 10yr old daughter after the GT game. We were at the paw after the alma matter and some drunk young female student was in front of us and turned around just as she dropped "MF" right in my daughters face. It wasn't on purpose but she could tell by the look on my face that I was clearly not happy. I wanted to say something but just let it go. The girl looked at my daughter and had a look to her like she just dropped "MF" in front of her own father and clearly felt bad. She kinda just sheepishly walked away.
One of the things I have always loved and bragged about Clemson gamedays is that it's a family friendly environment. I hope the "O MFn N" dies a quick death. That part of the cheer is clearly a Maryland Terp move, we are better than that.

I had a nice run in the student section due to friends that could get free tickets for several years after i graduated, and i never heard that once.
I'm not saying nobody is doing it now, but i really don't think that was a thing when i was there.

2001-2005. But when you heard it, it was just a few people here and there. It wasn't big groups doing it together. Students are going to do things like that because they're young and dumb, all we can do is shake our fist at them and complain about it. I would be worried if people outside of the student section were doing it.

Anyway, if somebody is saying it around me when I take my 3 year old, me and him or her are gonna have some words. I don't care to hear filthy language myself but generally to each his own, but when children are around is when it's different. I won't tolerate it.

Of course I was in Tiger Band for all home games as a student in the early 90's, and my current seats are as far away as you can get from the student section and still be in the lower deck. So chances of me hearing it are pretty low to begin with. But that's embarrassing that it's even a thing.
