they may not be mine or your favorite, but record sales say they are in the running to be on this list.
and are we talking best 80's band NOW or best 80's band in the 80's?
I would rather listen to the Cure now, than Motle Crue, but Motle Crue was bigger in the 80's. The Cure was a niche goth band.

Best of the 80's.
There were many great groups in the 90's. True rock made comeback. And today it's stronger than ever. Metallica in it's current form is still great. But ####... I still miss The Clash.

Top 10 bands I saw in concert
Apr 29, 2014, 1:15 PM

I won't take the time to put them in order. Not including bands I did not see live during that period (ex: seeing Styx in 2011 wouldn't count).
Guns N Roses The Cult Queensryche 'tallica Van Halen (w/ Sammy, not Dave - more versatile w/an extra guitar) Def Leppard (put on a really good show!) The Ramones Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble Drivin'n'Cryin Jason and The Scorchers

One of the few concerts I ever attended that I was ready for it to end. Their encore lasted over an hour. I was slap worn out from the headbanging.
