The underlying problem is Dabo is trying to make all his coaches and players

in his own image - Creation or cloning - either metaphor works - in an attempt to build a righteous kingdom. For example; Dabo: "Cade is so much like me that he could be my son." Dabo wants coaches and players like him or players that can be molded into facsimiles of him. He needs to let his coaches and players be themselves. For example: Saban hiring Lane Kiffin and letting Kiffin do his thing. Dabo can't do that. Dabo absolutely will not let Garrett Riley do his thing and Riley will go along because of the $$$$$ and the knowledge that he is biding his time for a head coaching job. The inexperienced assistant coaches will also go along because of their appreciation of just getting hired and one day having the chance to get the $$$. An empire built on nepotism and yes men and unchanging principles and practices cannot last. One day there will be a statue of Dabo on campus. I hope that the inscription will not read, "Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair."

there is some truth in what you wrote, especially the part about letting people be who they are. yes he is too focused on what i call the "culture fairy" he thinks if he sprinkles a little of his self righteous (imo idol) he has created that all will be better for it.
unfortunately it doesn't work that way i remember when tim tebow was at florida, many people who were not gator fans began practically worshipping him like an idol itself, it retrospect it turns out those florida gater teams had some terrible people on it including the head coach meyer and a serial killer in hernandez, (as well as the most arrest ever from one team) point being so called righteousness doesn't rub off how you think.
