They asked a few random sources: one was a Georgia Tech admissions counselor, one was a former Yale graduate (that’s all they said) and one was a father of a prospective student. Oh and they also asked someone who was Jewish.
They didn’t present a single fact or figure that I saw. That article is a slap in the face to journalism.

Here's a stat:
In 2023, for example, about 19 percent of total enrollment at Clemson in South Carolina came from New York and New Jersey—a big change from 2017, when the top out-of-staters were from the Carolinas and Georgia.

who don't want the elite 'northeast' types or California elite in our backyard. So this should be interesting if true.
I say great for Clemson if they can capitalize and bring the best and brightest, but something tells me this will be controversial.

It’s a money grab. We are filtering down to bright kids whose parents don’t flinch at the ridiculous tuition, especially that massive out of state premium.
Seems like a lot of in-state schools are trying to pull in the NE money. Heck, some in-state schools are offering IN-STATE tuition to out of state students to entice them to come to school here.

I live out of state so my daughter cannot get instate tuition to Clemson, and last I checked they don't give out of state rates for good students anymore.
AS it is, the out of state rates for Clemson are too much for us, but could easily afford in state.

My educated guess is Clemson Bridge students are among the wealthiest kids (parents) attending Clemson.

that wasn't the case when I was a bridge student.
It was mainly middle-class / small town kids with parents who were alumni.
