July 1st is Start of the 109th Tour de France Bike Race..

beginning with a time trial in Denmark. Will go on til mid July and cover almost 2100 miles or about 98 miles per day.

Race started in 1903.

Note: Covid has hit some racers & teams so it's been a mess!

came from Cavendish one year, very early in the tour after he won a stage on a devastating sprint.


The reporter asked him about none of the other teams getting organized and getting their guys in a good position for the final sprint. To which Cav replied:

"If those guys want to play JV games, they can be happy with JV results".


I was a fan from that moment on!

Not really into the grand bike race - Lance Armstrong (I didn’t do it) and his fellow dopers spoiled this one. Yellow shirt - whoopie .. it’s almost football season, who cares.

THE crucible for testing of new "Designer drugs" that enhance performance without triggering positive results on a drug test. In NO other sport has "doping" been as prevalent, unless you count Russian Olympic teams. Whoever the Tour winner is, you won't know until years from now whether they were actually clean or not. Remember how long it took them to finally nail Lance Armstrong?
