was that it was the last year of the contract between USuC and Clemson for tickets to the game. Clemson just assumed that the tickets would cost the same as the previous year. They sent out ticket applications as usual in the spring. In the summer of that year Clemson learned that USuC upped the price of the ticket. They could not go back to donors and ask for the difference so the Athletic department had to write a check to USuC for the difference. And the kicker was on the ticket it said "Academics vs. Athletics"....

That was funny coming from the school that was mailing acceptance letters to kids that didn’t even apply. Can’t criticize their academic standards if they don’t have any.
