Popeye's is a distant third (and their chicken sandwich was terrible) behind Bojangles and Chick Fil A, but I will never eat at another Zaxby's in my life, unless my life depends on it.

I'm with you on this one...you go to Popeyes for the spicy chickn...real chickn...not pressed reconstituted chickn...CFA has the best chicken sandwich...but any of you that go to Popeyes for the chickn sandwich are idiots anyway!

and the service takes forever...not worth the >30 min wait. Pretty sure the patty is frozen whereas CFA and Zaxby's bread theirs fresh - thus the texture and juiciness is not on par.

We interrupt this thread to advise the Popeyes spicy sandwich is excellent. If like me, order without pickles.
IMHO no better than Chick-Fil-A but a nice change up and a valid option for hungry Tigers!

The spicy chicken sandwich is just an added sauce. I like it is in the breading. I was VERY disappointed with Popeye's! Tried the Spicy chicken(not sandwich) it is hit and miss. If they run out they just give you the plain and say Nothing! That is in Easley!!!

Anthony Bourdain craved Popeyes every time he was in the southeast. I remember when Travis Etienne attributed his weight gain over spring break to Popeyes. And once when I stopped for lunch at a Popeyes that happened to be located right between a Chick-Fil-a and a Zaxby’s, I noticed the Popeyes was doing all the business; the other two had next to no traffic.
