The score of the game at the GameDay site has nothing to do with whether or not people are tuning in to watch GameDay. This article is written as if people will change the channel if we are blowing out NC State. While that may be true, that would happen at 4-5pm. GameDay ends at noon.
That said, I agree with the premise that ESPN didn't choose Clemson because it's just really not that exciting of a matchup from a national perspective. NC State doesn't move the needle.

In Charleston, all Clemson Sports are broadcast on 1340 am. Can't hear the game due to static 10 miles away from station tower. USC has 98.7 FM that you can hear 10 counties away. Same company owns both stations. Their reasoning is more Carolina Alum and fans. I guess they forgot about the roughly 10,000 plus Alum that work for SPAWARS in Charleston and the fact that you can't get a ticket for Clemsons Coaches tour in the spring, but USC can't even come close to filling the same venue on their Coaches Tour. GO TIGERS!!!

Sure. He'll have them ready for another disappointment. Sorry coach as in an adjective. One day the wolfpack alumni may wake up and realize their coach is the problem. Even with a really good QB and D last year they lost to the Tigers at home and blamed it on--laptops? I say they forego their TV royalties based on the HC statement. That'll get some attention. Way to go DD.
