It must be horrible to live a life in that much fear. Running from covid will not keep you from dying. No matter what you do we are all going to die one day. Sad to think that some people never realize the difference between a rut and a grave is the length of the hole.

80tiger,
I went back and read the article again, looking for the author's fear. Other than the fear that the ACC, SEC, and Big 12 were putting other people's lives at risk, I could not find any.
This might surprise you, but concern for the well-being of other human beings is NOT a negative.

You may want to define your terms. 'Well being' doesn't necessarily mean only what you want it to mean.

"Christine Brennan, what you just wrote is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever read. At no point in your rambling, incoherent article were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this bored is now dumber for having read it.

When you cannot reasonably reply to the ideas in the article, vaguely attack the source.
BTW even a precursory glance at the article will make clear that it is from USA Today.

Really? Because you like fascists, and you want to keep those black people in their place? Seems anti-american, but ok..

potentially caused by the influence of Black Lives Matter on these football games, including moments of silence for black people, playing of the black national anthem, and perpetuating the myth that systemic racism exists and is holding black people back in America.
The undertone to all of this, sometimes stated and sometimes not, is that white people are the problem.
This isn't really about unity. It isn't about cooperation. It isn't about discussing problems and working on solutions.
And regardless of what it is, it doesn't belong at a football game.

I'm not clear on whether it was significant booing or just a few fans. You know how the media likes to sensationalize stories...

I think some are looking at it in a very binary way - are students at a higher risk from playing in a COVID environment vs a non-COVID environment. This is different from the “given that COVID exists, how much added risk is it for college students to play football vs other activities”. As long as they believe playing without COVID is a possibility, the inclination for those people will probably be to wait until that point. Perhaps at some point a more rational approach will prevail.
