Clemson vs. Georgia Tech Prediction
Something has to give when Clemson meets Georgia Tech tonight in Atlanta. The Tigers and the Jackets face off in a crucial ACC matchup at Bobby Dodd Stadium, and there are several streaks or statistical oddities on the line, for both teams. Full Story » |

I Hope This One Gets Ugly Early!

And even uglier as the noght goes on. We have too much for them, and the key is to get up early, and then keep the pedal to the medal. GT cannot come from behind, and I don't think they have the athletes, nor the depth to beat us, if we play to win big, rather than just controlling the ball and making long drives. I hope we score early and often, and GT cannot keep up with that. Tigers show their stuff tonight, and I am going to bask in it.

I really don't see this as a 10 or 11 point game. If we take

care of the ball, i.e. don't give them the short field several times, we'll beat them like it's 2003. If we have the turnover bug, it'll be a house of horrors. Tech will be able to execute their game plan to perfection and make us play from behind with limited opportunities and a tired defense.
My prediction: Clemson takes care of the ball, gets up early and makes Tech play the game they fear they'll have to play. Tigers 48 Bees 10.

The only way I see them staying in this game

Is by playing with a short field. Even on a non-scoring drive, our offense has to pick up first downs and get to the other side of the 50, because I cringe every time I see a punt coming up. Those 30 yarders (and worse) set up our defense in a bad spot. If they are starting out darn near in FG range, that's bad JuJu. Hopefully it's being worked on, but that has been a worry since game 1 with me.

Stretch the Field!
Sep 22, 2016, 10:41 AM

Here we go again... GT on Thursday night. I tend to disagree with the idea of setting up the long pass by running the ball early. I feel if you want to make a statement you set up the running game by stretching the field early (I.e. Long pass on the 2nd or 3rd play of the game. We have thoroughbreds on the outside and with Watson's arm we need to hit that early. This will keep the safety's back and open up the run game and then watch out! Could be a big night for the offense. On defense Watkins and Lawerance will set the tone by occupying 3-4 offensive lineman, and the the backers can take full advantage. The defensive ends need to set the edge and contain the pitch man. Secondary play assignment football and don't let your eyes fool you. Especially on the wheel routes out of the backfield. I know this is all easier said then done but these are my keys to the game (for what it's worth). I like the Tigers tonight to make a statement! GO TIGERS!!! #ALL IN

Not sure about some of these predictions, but maybe the rose coloured (yes I'm Canadian) glasses are why we start freaking out when things don't go perfect in the game. GT on the road is a tough game for us and though I hope we win 38-10 I realistically will say 31-21.

40-24 Tigers

I agree and don't agree with the prediction in the article. I think it will be close maybe going into halftime, then opens up. So like 17-17 at the half. Then the Tigers roar, and go up big, 40-17. Tech gets a late 4th Q TD to make it look a little closer, but the game is over by the 4th.
Now, go make it happen Tigers, beat Tech!

Clemson just better not be looking ahead

GT is not good by any means compared to Clemson but for some reason they always have our number in ATL. If the players dont look ahead to next wknd then this is an easy in and easy out game. 38-17 is my prediction if we dont look ahead. 24-21 if we do. Cant wait to see what we do. Go Tigers!
