The offense

Here’s what I think. We don’t have enough speed at WR. Tee and Ross are bigger WRs, not quick twitch guys that can catch a screen, or a slant, and take it 70 yards for a TD. They are practically the same WR. And then you had Overton starting the first two games, which gives you another taller WR with not much speed. Amari is going to be lethal in the slot, but I think we need one more burner at WR. And I just don’t know who that guy is for us. I think Ladson can become that guy, but he’s only a true freshman. It’ll take some time for him to mature. Ross wasn’t ready at the beginning last year either.
Another thing that hurts us is TE. I know people have been complaining about the lack of passes across the middle of the field. Having a threat at TE would bring that, but we don’t have that threat without Braden Galloway.

We’re a lot better than everybody else. All I’m saying is that we have two identical WRs on the field at all times. Amari will be dangerous in the slot. Definite upgrade over Overton, who is the same WR as Ross and Tee. But, we don’t have a “burner” type WR like we used to have in the past. Amari is our only WR that can take a jet sweep, or a quick screen, or a quick slant, etc 80 yards to the house. That aspect of our offense appears to be missing.

Have you shared this with Dabo? Maybe he could add to the Scout team, and send you looking for what our coaching staff obviously is missing.

What? Ross took a slant pass 70 plus yards for a TD

Verses BAMA last year. Higgins, Ross, and Ladson are all very fast. The offense has been a little inconsistent this year but the biggest problem facing the offense is just perception everyone expects them to score every time they get the ball and that’s just not realistic.

Tee and Ross are not “very fast” though. Tee ran a 4.75 and Ross ran a 4.8 in high school. Undoubtedly those numbers have improved since, but they aren’t burners. They are both probably in the 4.5-4.6 range. Tee couldn’t outrun Syracuse’s LB last night. Both of them will be 1st rounders. But, they are basically the same WR. And then Overton, who’s just like them, started the first two games. And we don’t have a threat at TE. Outside of Amari, we dot have a burner at WR. DK was supposed to be that guy, but he’s at CB now. And looks great btw. Ladson has wheels. But again, just a freshman.

Ain't it just wonderful when the OFFENSE posts total yards above 600 for the game and we're worried about it.
Does no one remember our slow starts in September last year or the year before or the year before . . .

I’m not worried though. I’m pointing out things that we appear to be lacking. Sub 4.4 guys at WR and a consistent threat at TE.

Per ESPN, Tee Higgins ran a 4.75 and Justyn Ross ran a 4.8 in high school. They have definitely improved, but neither run sub 4.4 forties. For instance. Sammy Watkins ran a 4.43 at the NFL combine. Tee and Ross are not as fast as he was. You would have to be blind to think otherwise.

Sammy Watkins ran a 4.43 at the NFL combine. I said that we don’t have any WRs that run under a 4.4 and you think I am ignorant for saying that lol. I can tell you for certain that Sammy is faster than all of our current WRs.
