The intrigue of the NET Rankings

At some point, one has to call a ♤ a spade.
Something seriously wrong with these NET rankings. It's laughable.

Just take a look at the top 10. How many of you watched the Maui Invitational?
• UCLA and Tenn are ranked above Purdue, Gonzaga and Kansas.

And of course what we are really most interested in:
#39 UAB
#34 Boise State
#67 Clemson

Some of the other teams ranked above us:
#60 Iona (2-3)
#58 Utah Valley (3-2)
#52 Charleston (2-3)
#50 Oral Roberts (2-3)

And etc., you get my point. Something we talked about last year was how it was oddly designed for a team to better their NET by losing to teams that were better than them and that seems to be happening again this year.

What a joke

Net Rankings haven't began for this year yet. Those are last years rankings

NET rankings for 2023-2024 haven't been released yet. There is not enough data for the numbers to be meaningful.

What you are seeing is CBS posting this year’s records and last year’s NET. The records are up to date, but they are just pulling the most recent NET from the NCAA…which is from last season.
