Not always. Just remember saying that to my ex-wife before she left me and the kids. Dude she left us for ended up being a deadbeat and beat the stuffing out of her. What may appear to be greener grass on the surface has a high probability that it is well fertilized from below and hidden from the naked eye.

Do you mean the leach field?

Because the roots are shallow over a septic tank, so that grass always dries out first..

If you are looking for your septic tank, look a brown coffin sized plot of grass at the first sign of drought.
