Stock Market continues to skyrocket under Dem President

Funny we don't hear the orange guy bragging about stock market these days. Are you better today than 4 years ago?
(even though the President has significantly less control over the markets than people assume)

Why is the Fed Chair predicting 3 interest rate cuts
Mar 21, 2024, 10:51 AM
|
|
For 2024 ?
His job is not to make predictions.
Unless he knows it’s going to happen regardless of economic data.
Which, in an election year, would make him a political hack.

3 cuts is oddly specific ... don't ya think ?
Mar 21, 2024, 11:14 AM
|
|
The verbiage should have been
"There is potential for future cuts based on the current economic data"
By specifying "3 cuts", he's admitting that the "Big Guy" has been in his ear to help him out during for Nov.

I never understood any president bragging about stock markets, including Trump. Idgaf if the stock market is up. What I care about is housing costs, interest rates, and daily necessity cost such as food and gas. Which currently all suck.

The last eight years or so have made me wealthier than I would ever imagined possible, thanks to the stock market. However it would be pretty douchey of me to assume that the vast majority of people, who don't have any stock market investments, are similarly thriving. But you do you.

Noted. Glad to see you now care about the less fortunate. Appears businesses prefer his policies over the predecessor.

Dems should use all their gains to pay off student debts and house illegals.

The stock market is doing so well that all of the MAGA people have turned into communists, raging against corporate profits and the “elites” with their 401ks, just to have something to complain about.

Not because of Biden, but because who the president is doesn’t affect how much I get paid.

It matters what you can buy with that check and some how I think it's less than 4 years ago.

are outpacing inflation. Not just me, but nationwide. I’m better off financially than I was 4 years ago.
And that isn’t a blind defense of Biden and the economy. We still have lots of issues, like persistently high interest rates, mortgage rates/home prices/inventory making home buying a challenge, a president trying to forgive student loans, etc.
But all that said, I’m better off than I was 4 years ago, because who the president is is largely irrelevant when it comes to my personal finances. People control a lot more of their success than any president, democrat or republican.

By the numbers: The S&P 500 climbed 25.9% between Biden's inauguration and Friday's market close, which is the last day of trading in 2023. It rose 42.3% during the similar period for Trump

Agreed that presidents have direct impact on the market just like they don’t impact oil prices.
GOP administrations have tough time w economic performance for two reasons …..
First, they might talk about fiscal responsibility but they typically spend more than democrats. Only slightly related, but Clinton and Gore were the best at reducing government.
Second, trickle down economics doesn’t work. Period.
