Hopefully you guys that already know we’re gonna lose 3-4 games at the beginning of the spring game go ahead and save us the agony of your posts and mute yourselves all season.

Agonizing? I’ll tell you what’s agonizing. Seeing fans applaud and defend terrible terrible play. They’re no longer student athletes. They’re getting paid and some are getting paid to suck….. How is that ok?

Getting paid to suck? You realize that they’re still young, developing players regardless? You can tell when someone’s sports knowledge comes mainly from video games. Can they play better, I sure as heck hope so, but for an adult to pile on a kid that’s trying to get better, or a coach that’s doing whatever he can to help him get better, is pretty agonizing. You’re not always gonna be the best, that’s life

Without pointing fingers, it is this type of attitude that hurts programs, not NIL or use (or lack of use) of the portal.

Its a clear lack of progress and innovation that hurts programs. Elite programs have fans that get pissy when expectations are not met. Alabama/LSU/Oh St dont blame the fans when they lose games.

I’ve never pointed fingers at the fans, because the fans don’t play the game. But let’s be real with ourselves. Throughout our historic decade, we haven’t been a national championship “team” without arguably the best quarterback in the country at the helm. I love my Alma mater, but I’m also a sports realist. I’ve enjoyed our run as much, if not more, than anyone. But until the best quarterback in the country is on our team, this might be our reality. Also, they have to come in and be the best, because you see how well we develop them. Call me a coot, or whatever you want, but find the lie. Reality is reality. I’m Clemson till I die, whether we win em all or lose em all

Well said. Clemson grads do call each other "coot." I refuse to stoop to that level. Your opinion seems to be in line with my own. Cade is not elite, and definetly not the best QB in the country. This, coupled with O-line deficiencies, and a lack of embracing the portal have led to a downturn. I will be rooting and hoping for a playoff appearance and another championship...but this teams doesnt look to that level.

Why can’t Dabo see that the best quarterback in the country is sitting in the portal just waiting for that call from Clemson. The portal is where the very, very best quarterbacks are always found. Doh!!!

...and what happens if UGA wipes the floor with us? I love my Alma Mater, but to not recognize the lack of progress from Cade or the offense is to be blind. Accepting mediocrity doesnt lead to success.

And how many snaps have you played or coached at this level to make you such an expert. The players see and hear all the bad mouthing and trash talk, it doesn't help in any way.

Im not claiming to be a coach, nor do I claim to have the answers. My Clemson degree isnt used for Coaching Football, but the results the last couple of years are below expectations. I hope this season proves me wrong, I will be watching, sporting my Clemson orange, and rooting vigorously. However, I still do not have confidence in this offense or our QB. I hope to be proven wrong, but to point out problems doesnt make myself or anyone else less of a fan. Right now, can you honestly say this team is on the same level as UGA or one of the programs that made the playoff last year?

I wasn’t a good enough player to play at Clemson, I’ll admit that, but I played juco before transferring to Clemson after a motorcycle accident ended my playing life. All that aside, what statement have I made from a football expert’s perspective?
