The fact that Clemson fans left early from DV is very telling.

We (Clemson fans) almost never start filing out early, win or lose. The fact that it happened last night tells you how bad the product was on the field and how people are starting to feel about the state of the program.

There’s trouble in Tigertown. And it’s been evident for a while. The past 15-20 games I’ve been to outside of a few the crowd and energy just didn’t feel right.

A lot of people are starting to lose interest in college football as a whole because of the portal, NIL, etc. When your team isn’t performing like they should and part of it is controllable, or at least can tried to be controlled, it makes it even harder to swallow.

I’m not saying we need to raid the portal and overhaul the roster, but filling needs is a MUST if you want to stay competitive. Our depth is pitiful.

Lots of questions are going to be asked over the coming months about this program and Dabo and his philosophies.

Leaving in drives BEFORE the end of the 3rd quarter. Couldn't believe what I was seeing but I guess I kind of get it. 😔

While I stayed until the Alma mater, I couldn’t blame anyone that left early, I get it.

This situation Clemson finds itself in with Dabo has to be unique. Has there ever been a young coach have that much success, then some rules change that are against his beliefs, and then the coach implodes? He isn’t even 55 yet! He built the prettiest sandcastle on the beach and then kicked it down and destroyed it himself. I don’t know what will happen, but I don’t see Dabo changing his mind.

I’ve been to several games when fans left early. It’s not close to new. Bowdens last game in a loss to Wake and VT killing us when Cam Chancellor played. That debacle was on a Thursday night,

I didn’t leave, but for the first time ever, I did stop cheering and yelling while the defense was on the field. Stopped when we went for it on 4th down inside our own 40 in the 3rd quarter. The last thing I yelled all night was “punt the football!” As soon as it looked like we were considering going for it. That looked like a desperation move and it didn’t work. Pretty well felt like we were done at that point. And I NEVER do that.

Unfortunately it just felt like I’d be losing my voice for nothing. Never felt like that before. Don’t like it.

The game was awful from start to finish. There was no flow to the game and every time there was some rhythm there was a penalty or an injury.

Tells you a lot about how fans feel about the state of the program and the sport***

I would argue that the fans that are losing interest are the fans of teams that are not taking advantage of the new rules/landscape. I know that may be a tough pill to swallow, but I asked myself. Because I am not a fan of the new rules and my interest in college football is not what it has been. I wonder though if I would feel that way if we had consistently been in the top 5 like we were from 2015-2020. I’m not sure?

I don’t think they ever had any interest to begin with.

Drove up from Savannah excited for the game. Arrived shortly before game time. Enough time for one brew at Esso Club with the Mrs. before game.

Clemson received kickoff. Looked up at scoreboard near end of 1st qtr, and we were down 104 to 3 yards. The 2nd quarter was not much better. Crowd started out reasonably pumped. The team was flat.

Left at halftime (something I've never done since 1979) and was surprised that I was among thousands including many students (mostly young ladies) who were all walking downtown to get the Saturday night party started. No one appeared real upset or really interested in the team. They seemed to be moving on.

I've slowly arrived at the understanding the high decibel games of the 1980's are a thing of the past. Still the apathy is surprising but not cataclysmic.

We left early. Got to truck as 3rd quarter ended.

Lot was already 30-40% empty. Nearest car to my spot was 8 spaces down

When you have pro football and stink up the joint attendance falls

Take a look at panther stadium today- about 25-30000 disguised as seats
